“we made this year the best one yet!“
heartfelt letter from their teacher.
wonderful way to set the tone for a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Not me getting emotional reading this book. My son‘s teacher sent this book home with the kids with a personalized message and it was so heartfelt. Especially if your kid is in SpEd and that relationship grows with the same teacher year after year. It‘s going to be so hard to say goodbye as my boy starts his journey to middle school in the Fall.
Sad news in my house today, my wonderful dog, Hurley passed away last night. He was 12 years old and had inoperable cancer. We stayed home today with my Two kids to help them grieve.
Looking back over my shoulder
I can see that look in your eye
Turning my heart over and over
I never wanted to say goodbye🎶

This is perfect in its simplicity and empathy. It normalizes death and grief for even the youngest readers. It covers a spectrum of emotions and lets kids know they are not alone in how they are feeling, while also assuring them that they can go on living, even when they are sad.
I sure love this little reader! These are a few of the favorites for the 18 month old crowd at my house right now. Lots of lifting the flaps and pages to turn. 📚💗 (Being a Granny is the best!)

Not a poet I‘m very familiar with.
Farewell by Tagore. One of the most beautiful representations i've come across, to elucidate #goodbye and a new journey. #poetrymatters @LazyDays
