pickLong on my "occult detectives" to-read list, I finally got around to this, and the sequel (really more like the second part, as the hero re-encounters the evil spirit that escapes at the end of this one). Another entry in the series was announced, but never appeared as the magazine publishing them folded. It was pretty obviously reworked into a story called "The Hand of Saint Ury" though, so I read that one too, making for a nice little trilogy.

A brilliant supernatural western, Lou Merriwether is a gunslinging, chain smoking, Stetson wearing 19yr old Taoist pyschopomp keeping 1800s San Francisco safe from ghosts & geung si. When a bunch of young Chinese boys go missing, she saddles up & heads into the Rockies to investigate.
so-soI loved the idea of publishing Erin and Abby's book, but I found it a dry read, which was disappointing since several friends enjoyed it. There were some humorous asides and some interesting facts, but it wasn't very engaging so it took me a long time to read. #ghostbusters #movietiein #dictionalauthors
