pick723 p. Took me longer than the previous ones. The author decided to do a 2-parter and put half of the characters in one book, and half of them - to the next one. Not sure if lack of Daenerys had something to do with my slow reading

pickThis was my first introduction into the GoT world. I‘ve never seen the series or read the books but really wanted to check out the graphic novels to dive into the universe. This book did an awesome job of setting up the world and introducing the start of the story line that will become GoT. Definitely a great starting point for anyone new to the world or for anyone that wants the backstory!

pickWhile obviously a first novel, this is the book #GRRM should read! It shows historical “realities” without glorifying rape and torture. Finally, a book about men and women in power, their political intrigue, and the consequences of personal vendettas on a nation where women can and will use their limited power for themselves and their families. 4/5 stars, read if you like #GoT, but demand less rape. Set in Ancient Rome with gods granted magic.
