Canada month: Read the "Country portrait" (it's a series of non-fiction books written by German people who have long lived in other countries and therefore provide views and explanations from their unique perspective) and had some Montreal style Poutine which was quite delicious! I'm a fan!?
I learned a lot about Canada and what makes it such a special place and how many celebs are actually Canadian! ???

1) @Catsandbooks & I have chosen countries for 2025 #foodandlit!
2) Daughter cooked with me a lot this week including these veggie tostadas (pictured) and pepper chicken; last night she cooked beef bulgogi solo
3) Friend Elise visited me from Massachusetts & gave me this book
4) I worked on making Christmas cards
5) Started organizing my book piles next to my bed

I‘m going through some reading trauma right now apparently. I‘ve read this one five years ago! And I remembered it once I realized the plot. So I checked out book 2, and turns out, I‘d read it too! And reading my review I remembered it as well. So, I‘ve returned books 1 and 2, and now I‘ve put a hold on book 3. I‘m just a mess with my reading this week!! #Canada #foodandlit @Catsandbooks

This book was sad and covered some hard topics, but an incredibly good read. I didn‘t want the story of these women to end. #FoodAndLit #Canada

I‘m so happy Rice wrote this follow up to Moon of the Crusted Snow. This one wasn‘t as good as the first, but it was a satisfying follow up. The audiobook had the same excellent narrator as well. #FoodAndLit #Canada

I‘ve been wanting to start this series for ages. I‘ve read 2 or 3 of it out of order. Finally my library hold came in so I can read it for #Canada #foodandlit @Catsandbooks
