Hotel Africa: New Short Fiction from Africa | Helen Moffett, Africa Day Story Short
post image

Four hours to go till midnight here in Germany and eventually it's become clear that my #firstlast book will be one and the same.
I've paused my reading of the tagged book for a bit as it didn't qualify for any prompts of #Gottacatchemall hosted by @PuddleJumper (at least not as quick as needed😉) and it doesn't feel very winterly. ❄️
But now I've caught all the #Pokemon I wanted, I'm ready to continue Hotel Africa and start into 2024 with it.🎉

It is unlikely that I will finish any of my recent starts before the end of 2022. I‘m hooked on them all so far.

Thanks for the opportunity, Kristen!

#12booksof2022

Yes, we‘re on June. No, seasonal reading isn‘t my thing. Yes, now you mention it, this was my #firstlast book last January. And yes, I do enjoy taking my time over books.

This is a gorgeous collection of snowy essays from round the world. And we might even (not) discuss it at bookclub next month! I probably won‘t have read it again before then…

Andrew65 Sounds interesting. 2y
Kristin_Reads I just got this in the mail! It‘s such a pretty cover ❄️ 2y

tpixie @EvieBee she was really proud of her mayonnaise recipe so I‘m going have to be brave and eat raw eggs! she also worked hard on her bread recipe. 3y
EvieBee You‘re a brave soul! I eat everything BUT I have this weird mayonnaise phobia. 🤣 3y
tpixie @EvieBee lol 😂 well I‘m kind of worried about the raw egg I‘m not certain if I‘ll be able to make it. But I love Hellmann‘s! 3y

City of Tears | Kate Mosse
post image

My last book of 2020 is Kate Mosse‘s The City of Tears. I have 3 hours left to go and it‘s quite epic!

My first book of 2021 will be Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982, with @squirrelbrain and @Cinfhen , who have been so sweet as to declare this a #NonBuddyRead, as I‘m a bit of a disaster with buddy reads. Thank you for putting up with my nonsense, ladies 😘😘😘

#firstlast @BookNAround

TrishB Lol 😆 I‘m the worst buddy read partner ever, I hear ya! 4y
rockpools @TrishB I think I have a 0% success rate - which is helpful 🤫 4y

squirrelbrain I may have already started it! Rachel @Cinfhen - I won‘t finish it until tomorrow though so I can count it... I‘m a stickler for the ‘rules‘! 4y
Cinfhen Hehehehe...how is it so far @squirrelbrain 4y
squirrelbrain It‘s written in an unusual style, but I‘m liking it! @Cinfhen 4y
rockpools @squirrelbrain Yay! Unusual is good (I hope!) 4y
