ChasingOm As a wedding gift, I got my husband a picture frame and he got me a wooden bookmark - by entire coincidence, they both had this engraved on them. 😂💜 2y

#Wardens2023 #JoyousJanuary #BookSpinBingo #SeriesLove2023 #JumpStart2023

A #BorrowedBook that happens to be the last of the series. I really did enjoy it though & therefore may look to Libby for the previous books. Another ‘#SeriesLove2023 Newbies‘ list add.

Andrew65 We all can‘t resist adding new series to our lists 😹🙈 2y
DieAReader @Andrew65 Oh I know🤣 I was well prepared though🤣 Already had some lined paper ready to add the series names & authors as well as the books in each series🤫🤓📚 2y

Although I won‘t likely finish this one before the end of the Readathon, there‘s no harm in a late night starter😏😉🤓📚

Andrew65 Looks a good choice, enjoy your last day of the Readathon whether you finish it or not. ☃️☃️☃️ 2y

Daisy and Marcus are already together through all the Rock Chick books and she‘s one of my favorite chicks. This prequel about how they got together was perfect!

Daisy‘s history is tough and what she goes through is terrible. Marcus is there for her, even before she realizes it. And then that epilogue 😭🥰 Laughter and tears.

Set in early 1900s NYC, this entry in the series features a murder involving the notorious Black Hand, a decentralized Italian crime syndicate who terrorized NYC during this time. (They were the precursor to the Mafia.)
.
Kudos to the author for using Joseph Petrosino, the real life cop who took down The Black Hand, as a character in the book. Thompson really did her research. [For more info on Petrosino, read The Black Hand by Stephen Talty].

I put off reading this book because I didn‘t want the series to be over 😢 Darkest London is one of my favorite series ever. And this final book was so good.

Layla Starling is coming into her own, becoming what she was born to be. That is causing a lot of problems around London - especially for St. John.

Lauren_reading His family thinks he betrayed them on purpose and he‘s loved Layla since he was a boy. Now he needs to protect her and all of London from the evil that‘s arrived.

This final book was everything I could hope for.

CoverToCoverGirl Loved this series and loved the ending but I‘d say yes to more. It‘s one of my very favourite series too! 5y

Murder on Pleasant Avenue | Victoria Thompson
Mehso-so

I was hesitant when I picked up this book. I seldom read murder mystery‘s. I ended up finding it a quick read, that kept me interested from beginning to end.
I enjoyed the historical aspects , especially being of Italian descent.
A 3 rating would be too low, but a 4 is bit too high. The biggest downfall was I figured out “who done it” too quickly in the story. All in all, I would recommend this book I will read more books by this author.
