Spent my birthday in Clarksdale, MS checking off a goal on my bucket list to see the legendary Crossroads at Hwy 49/61. We toured the Delta Blues Museum and stayed at The Shack Up Inn, a collection of old sharecropper cabins in the middle of cotton, soy, and sunflower fields.
Social distancing level achieved: expert!

CocoReads We were fortunate enough to see B.B. King before he died. His health wasn't the greatest by the time we saw him so there were more stories than playing but it was still a great night. A few years ago we saw Buddy Guy and he is amazing. If anyone ever has the opportunity to see him, I'd highly recommend it! 7y

I've been absent on an inpromtu, whirlwind Delta blues tour up to the King Biscuit Blues Festival in Helena, AR over the weekend and will be playing catch up from the last 3 days with photo challenge entries later today. I had the best weekend of my life. I want to go back RIGHT NOW. #DeltaBlues

Hornsby78 Y'all, it was astounding. Literally every place we turned, somebody was playing SOME kind of blues live, from Helena to Clarksdale. I have been sitting here today wondering how I could make money if I moved up there. @Louise @Suzze @BookishFeminist 8y
