I'm torn between pick & so-so--I wanted it to be scarier/creepier & I had a hard time with both parents & the evil child--I wanted to smack all of them. But it did keep me intrigued, I love creepy children books & I liked the way it ended, so a pick. It's also my #MarchIntoOz pick today as Suzette, the mother, took time to #CryInShame about her scars, health issues, parenting skills & the possibility she might be to blame for Hanna's evil deeds.😱

MommyWantsToReadHerBook We had a great discussion on this in our little arty movie and book group that I miss so much. Had to just reread the plot summary and now I remember how unsettling I found this book, and frankly it remains relevant today as the country is still largely in a shambles and white people have not sufficiently atoned for their disgrace. 7y
