Loved Ms. Marvel, issues 1-5

I think editor Sana Ananat wrote it best when describing this comic and its readers:

“–it was clear that you guys got it. By now you should have realized that this book isn‘t a marketing ploy, nor does it come with political agendas. It‘s just a story about a young girl maneuvering her way to adulthood, who also happens to reflect the changing face of America.”

Soft pick. The story itself didn't grab me, even though I liked the idea of the Jedi Council mingling with normal people. There were many scenes that made me laugh out loud, but all in all there were just way to many characters. Whenever I stopped reading and picked the book up again, I had to look up who's who (except for the obvious ones). Guess I'm not that much of a Star Wars fan after all? 😭

BookwormAHN I don't think that's the problem. Sometimes a book can have too many characters 😸 2d
Jari-chan @BookwormAHN Thank you! 🙏 1d

HA!! I knew he was still alive!! After the Crisis Event, Ollie changed his name and moved from Star City to Los Angeles, where he joined a prestigious law firm to continue his fight for justice! It's almost time for Suits: LA (aka The Further Adventures of Oliver Queen) to begin.

The first part of the two-part Dark Moon Rising series, which are expanded and modernized versions of early Batman.

Batman has his first encounter with Hugo Strange, who is doing weird genetic experiments that end up going wrong, and he ends up with giant, brain-dead cannibals that he uses to kill the gangsters he‘s borrowed money from to get them off his back.

I think it's a good story but the finished book is very poor.

I was disappointed.

repost for @BookwormAHN:

In January we read or are still waiting to read Tears of The Nameless. How did y'all like it?
For February we have The Living Force. It takes place shortly before The Phantom Menace and we are back with the Jedi from that era. This should be good.
As always if anyone wants to be added or removed just let me know. And May the Force Be With You Always #StarWarsBuddyRead

The_Literary_Jedi Really liked TotN. The audio was awesome! Story kicked along at an even keel and there were some great character moments built in naturally. Really great read 4w
BookwormAHN @The_Literary_Jedi Yay, I'm still waiting on the audiobook from my library. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it 😺 4w

Jari-chan Loved Tears Of The Nameless ❤️ Started with the new book as well and the start is already quite fun. 4w
PuddleJumper I'm just keeping note. My library heavily favours the younger books and graphic novels 4w

Bruce goes on a spirit quest to commune with his parents while a daughter of Ra's Al Ghul seeks revenge on her father. Overall, just okay, but there is some great art and some interesting scenes that elevate it to a pick.
