To me, this iteration of SUPERMAN (late ‘80‘s) by the great John Byrne and Jerry Ordway, is the sweet spot for the character. Bright and colorful, yet shedding the ridiculous fringes of the Golden and Silver eras. There are still zany plots and characters, but with just enough pathos to be taken seriously. Fun, with a hint of realism, is just the right flavor of the Son of Krypton for my tastes.

I really enjoyed this book despite the fact that keeping up with all the storylines could be difficult.
The entire Jedi council decide to go to Kwenn, a planet that is soon to be decommissioned to see what they are missing and reconnect with the people there. The mission gets more difficult when pirates show up.
I loved Yaddle. She really shines in this one 💚

At the end of WWII, the JSA find themselves of no more use to the country, and then try to return to civilian life with varying degrees of success. An obvious WATCHMEN clone, but not a bad one. My only complaints are the lack of action set pieces (until the final battle on the last pages), and the underwhelming nature of the story under the shadow of other much similar and superior books. Worth checking out if this kind of narrative works for you.

34/100 This wasn't the conclusion that I wanted, but I guess it is the ending that best suits the story. In the end, there's no justice, for anyone, people die, the studio covers more scandals, and everyone shrugs and goes about their business as if it's all supposed to be this way. 3.75/5 #Read2025 #SeriesLove2025

Plenty of secrets come out, dirty tricks, sexual assaults, perversions, scandals the studio is willing to kill to keep quiet. The groups start to arrive in Boulder and Las Vegas. New relationships form as old bonds strain. I am reminded of a bit from comedian Lee Camp: Evil people have plans. Good people don't have plans. They want to live their lives in peace and enjoy themselves. Well, the evil people here are crucifying rule breakers and gathering weapons while the good guys are trying to build a coalition by committee.
