I kept expecting some exciting twist and it never showed up. Which I guess is the point? I hope it isn‘t that I dislike cozy fantasy. I adore Becky Chambers. I‘m sure a big part of it is that Baldree likes to use my biggest bookish pet peeve.

I did adore Satchel.

Rachel.Rencher I liked the first one more than this one. This one just kind of fell flat. 3h

I started this series out of order, listening to Christmas at the Grange, first during the holidays. I enjoyed it so much; I immediately began book 1 in the series. The characters, back story and plot are so refreshingly different, I absolutely loved it! A new favorite cozy series! (And I am very picky when it comes to cozies)
The narration is also perfectly suited.

mabell I had a physical copy of this book, but finally put it in a little library when I thought I would never read it. So glad I gave the Christmas one a listen! 1d

Such a delightful, uplifting little story. It felt like an unexpected huge that I didn't know I needed.

Who'd thought opening a coffee shop could turn into an adventure?

Enchanted_Bibliophile @Lauredhel 🤩 I'm excited to get my hands on the prequel, and then I'll join the wait for the new release 😁 12h

I had a few quibbles with this (relationships rather rushed), but I loved Meep and Caz, and the details of the work, and it was a fun cosy read.

I had a proper book hungover after Bookshops and Bonedust and looking around, noticed that I have a thing for „cozy fantasies“. So I started this one. And it soon became one of those books when you count the hours until you can continue reading it. So much love for the storytelling, the world-building and the characters.

Also I am now actually considering getting a spider plant.

imthatniki Ohhh I want to read this. Glad it's getting positive reviews! 4d

Looks like this is my #bookspin choice for the month! Which is timely: if I leave it much longer before I get round to reading this, I'll have forgotten everything about the first book.

In setting up my list, I included a couple of books I already read in February/am partway through, since I'm thinking I'll set up a #bookspinbingo card too. Just need to try not to become obsessive about it, either in creating it or trying to stick to it. 😅

Didn't manage to finish The Spellshop yet, it's taken me forever, but maybe this evening? I have no other plans, as long as I finish up studying. I love Meep!

Taking a bit of a break right now and looking at my January stats. It felt like I wasn't reading much, but that was really just in comparison to December, when I read 66 books (total includes manga, graphic novels, novellas etc).

Maybe I will sneak myself back on the #BookSpin wagon too...

The world building is excellent and executed well. I really loved most of the story. There was a point where I was SO angry at Rivelin. A sort of YOU DON'T EVEN DESERVE HER kind of angry. But here is the bad for me. I hated the way the spice was written. And I'm trying to decide if it was just the verbiage or if it was a disconnect issue. Either way, I won't be reading any more by this author. (Better than "so-so" but also not a "pick".)
