I love the premise of this book and I flew through it, however I suspect I would have enjoyed it even more if I knew more about Japanese cuisine. The food descriptions meant nothing to me. The human stories resonated though.

October was quite the month! I had so many 5-star reads and some of the worst books I read all year as well. But this little book—which took me forever to read—is a balm for my soul. pickA pretty satisfying cozy fantasy! I enjoyed the characters and their journey to putting together their new bar venture. I did want a bit more flavor as far as Rhoren‘s transition from living in the mountains all his life to living down by the sea goes. #LGBTQIA #CozyFantasy

pickI don‘t know if there‘s a better thing to do at New Year‘s Eve than finish a good book. I saw this around for so long, now finally gave it a go and read it in three days. This is so random and yet so warm and comfortable. Also I am craving cinnamon buns now.
