3.5/4⭐️ (between very good and excellent)

I love the premise of this book and I flew through it, however I suspect I would have enjoyed it even more if I knew more about Japanese cuisine. The food descriptions meant nothing to me. The human stories resonated though.

Plot and Engagement: 4 (excellent) Character and Atmosphere: 3 (very good)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️This was really cute and a quick ready to start the new year. I love a cozy mystery that comes with recipes! One day, I‘ll actually make them 🤣

October was quite the month! I had so many 5-star reads and some of the worst books I read all year as well. But this little book—which took me forever to read—is a balm for my soul. Such a sweet lovely adorable gorgeous book. Vying for best book of the year. Many second place books in this month. #12booksof2024 @Andrew65

I was all set to start my BookSpin pick today but my hold came in at work so I guess I need to read this first. (I own my BookSpin pick so there‘s no due date on it.)

A pretty satisfying cozy fantasy! I enjoyed the characters and their journey to putting together their new bar venture. I did want a bit more flavor as far as Rhoren‘s transition from living in the mountains all his life to living down by the sea goes. #LGBTQIA #CozyFantasy

Thank you, @JulieClair, for hosting the #SeasonalCozies group this year. I read some great cozies (and started a series, so I kinda got away from the monthly pick), but... it was great!

I am excited for #ThematicCozies coming up!

julieclair @ElizaMarie So glad you had fun with it, and found a great new series, too! Hopefully we‘ll have just as much fun with #ThematicCozies this year! 😃 2d

The amateur sleuth in this one is a veterinarian, and the only witness to the crime is the victim‘s dog, so this definitely fits this month‘s animal theme! 🐾

Looking forward to another year of cozies!

julieclair This looks so cute! Enjoy! 2d

I really liked Ellery Adams' Secret, Book & Scone Society series, so when I saw this, I knew it had to be my pick for this month's #ThematicCozies!
@julieclair

julieclair I like this series, but haven‘t read this one. Enjoy! 1d

I don‘t know if there‘s a better thing to do at New Year‘s Eve than finish a good book. I saw this around for so long, now finally gave it a go and read it in three days. This is so random and yet so warm and comfortable. Also I am craving cinnamon buns now.

TheKidUpstairs Such a good New Year's book :) And yes, I defy anyone to read it and not crave something deliciously baked! 2d
