That first sip…☕️

There was a lot going on in this book: a current murder, a historical presumed suicide, a historical presumed accidental death, a bunch of actors (ie excellent liars) as suspects, some emotionally fraught circumstances for Lynley, some excellent detecting by Havers, and some political BS. It made for an entertaining read but I need to give this series a break now. I'm definitely going to continue but I need to read some other stuff first.

A clergyman accused of pedophilia dies while in police custody. But there are questions. Havers arrives with Ardrey but the investigation goes nowhere. Then Lynley gets involved and he and Havers do the investigation up right.
I do love how personal George gets. Not only with the main characters but with even minor characters involved in the story. As usual, everyone is affected and grows accordingly.

As usual, complex with deep character studies of all suspects. Lynley and Havers growing and changing too. That's why I so enjoy this series. Consequences indeed.

Havers gets herself into so much trouble - okay, as usual. Lynely does his best to help but since Barbara's friends are involved she's far off the rails.

A good installment in the Lynley and Havers mystery series. This one takes place at the University of Cambridge, where a deaf student is murdered while out on her morning run.
