With No One As Witness
With No One As Witness | Elizabeth George

[A] juicy serial killer whodunit. USA Today Delicately textured...achingly compassionate....Its one of Georges best, and thats saying something. Seattle Times The 13th novel in Elizabeth Georges acclaimed, New York Times bestselling Inspector Linley crime fiction series, With No One as Witness is arguably the most riveting, shocking, and emotionally compelling of the lot. The hunt for a serial killer who has been murdering and mutilating young boys in London has Scotland Yard Detective Superintendent Thomas Lynley and his team of investigators racing to stop the slaughter, only to have the investigation nearly derailed by one devastating, truly game changing event. An American author, George has been praised as a master of the British mystery by the New York Times, one of only two Yanks whose crime novels have been adapted for the PBS TV series, Mystery, and her exceptional police procedurals rank with the best of Ian Rankin, Peter Robinson, and Ruth Rendell.

So according to Litsy this book is 900 or so pages and according to GR it's 784 pages.

I have nine hours and fourteen minutes left of the audio. Perfect for a day at work.

I bought this because of books that SHOULD have maps, but don't! #mapsinbooks

TheLondonBookworm Examples...? :) 8y
SusanInTiburon When I read stories set in London I have a burning desire to see how locations relate to each other. Often it's a detective story, where people are zipping around in different directions (e.g. Elizabeth George, Ngaio Marsh, "Robert Galbraith"), but Zadie Smith and Nick Hornby have also had this effect on me. Maybe because I've spent only 4 days of my life in London so I can kinda sorta picture things but it's all fuzzy. 8y
SusanInTiburon @TheLondonBookworm also the A to Z maps are just so cool. 8y

Bookquilter I liked this idea so much I ordered one! 8y
SusanInTiburon @Bookquilter yay! I'm pretty sure that, if not for Litsy, I would never find anyone else who likes this as much as I do! 8y
TheLondonBookworm @SusanInTiburon ah yeah I see how that can be frustrating! I find google maps helps :) you can actually see the streets and get a picture of what it's like :) London is crazy complicated though the only way to really figure it out is to walk everywhere! 8y
SusanInTiburon @TheLondonBookworm Google Maps! Of course! Why didn't I think of that? Because I'm old. Next time, I'll do both. 8y
