Edging ever closer to completing #booked2021 with this for #bakedgoodsonthecover prompt and crossing another one off my audible TBR to boot! Starting this one in glorious November Sunshine on the beach ☀️

So I finally read one of my oldest unread BOTM books (this one is almost 4 years old 😅)... I put it off because I saw not great reviews, but I needed a #BakedGoodsOnTheCover for #Booked2021.

I really liked this novel about appetites and addiction. Greg is almost impossible to like & there are so many icky details, but I was still very invested. Near the end, the book just about blew my mind. Sad, funny little trainwreck of a story.

I bought this a few years ago because for some reason I can't remember, I was excited to read it. In retrospect, that was silly -- because I'm really not that interested in food or food histories. Oops! Another book that just wasn't for me, but I'm happy to clear it off my physical TBR!

This marks my last #Booked2021 for winter! A #KindleUnlimited book with #BakedGoodsOnTheCover, I wish that this had been marketed as a follow-up to Winter Cottage. I hate feeling like I‘m missing out on important backstories! The family ties here get a bit convoluted too- I wish there‘d been a family tree! I tried listening first but the audio highlighted the stilted dialogue that does all the heavy lifting for plot momentum & development. #bujo

I just couldn‘t get through this: it engaged me at the beginning but I got disconnected from the main character and the plot: the weird workplace and the weird alternative market were too much! It was my #Booked2021 prompt for #BakedGoodsontheCover

Just started Freshwater 👍🏻 hopefully will get some reading time today but lot of work stuff to do later.
The others are calling to me this week- 100 days of cake is for #bakedgoodsonthecover - I did struggle with trying to find something I actually wanted to read so 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Definitely not a favorite, halfway through I nearly #DNF. It was juvenile and had some offensive descriptions (was 1990 really 30 years ago!). I kept going because this was her 1st book and I hoped it would get better and it did.
