It‘s autumn! Season of soups and socks and cuddling under blankets right? Well, it is for me in NZ and all the #AussieLittens

This is a lovely little book. I hadn‘t expected that it would be as much about writing and ageing, as it is about grieving and growing attached to a beautiful large dog. It‘s written in a free form style, like listening to the musings or internal dialogue of an intelligent friend. Some amazing thoughts in here. ⬇️

Centique Lots of writerly quotes and thoughts about writers and books. A little like H is for Hawk in that way but shorter. Little gems scattered throughout. This is a book I‘ll want to reread. 4y

BookwormDownUnder Guys, it‘s not going well for me!!! Went to the breakfast, which took two hours. Foster kittens flipped their litter box upside down so had to clean that. Settled in with book and a friend popped in for an hour visit. Yikes!!! Might have to do another readathon SOON. 5y

BookwormDownUnder I might have to come up with a bookish prize for most pages read, funniest post, weirdest hair color, or something like that. My pre-ordered book will be out on the 21st so I know what I‘ll be reading! If I can wait until the Sunday.

A book club pick by a Scottish friend. Very fast read. Should be an interesting discussion as a few former teachers in my group. CarolynM I read this for the first time earlier this year (don't know how I hadn't read it before) and although it wasn't my usual thing I have to say I thought it was brilliant. 6y

LuckyDuck Thank you for your welcomes. I must confess, I did an awful thing in lending out this book. When this book came out it blew me away. I lent it to a good friend who was pregnant with her first child. She has never let me forget that she is forever fearful that she has somehow impacted her child .....oops! Needless to say, Lionel Shrive remains one of my favourite authors to this day. She never fails to tackle hard core issues full on. (edited) 6y
