At the time this memoir was published in 2014, Sqn Ldr George “Johnny” Johnson MBE DFM, was one of the last three last surviving Dambusters. Sqn Ldr Les Munro CNZM DSO QSO DFC JP of the RNZAF passed away in 2015, and Sgt Frederick Sutherland of the RCAF passed away in 2019. So Johnny is now just the last surviving British Dambuster, but the last surviving Dambuster. He‘s 101 on 25th November.
