Day 27 - #Feast #SleighTheShelves
#AMoveableFeast #ErnestHemingway

"You belong to me and all Paris belongs to me and I belong to this notebook and this pencil." Begun in the autumn of 1957 and published posthumously in 1964, Ernest Hemingway's A Moveable Feast captures what it meant to be young and poor and writing in Paris during the 1920s.

I would like to read this!

I definitely chose poorly here. I have never understood the acclaim for Hemingway, and suspect that it might represent another instance of the emperor‘s new clothes. #rorygilmorereadinglist : no.79/339. The adventures of dissolute drunken fools in beautiful european locations. Lots of other people seemed to get upset that nothing much happens, but I didnt mind too much. Its a perfect book, but not a brilliant book. With #amoveablefeast I was all for moving to Paris, and becoming a journalist. Still, his so-so is leaps and bounds in front of most other people's best, so I'll let him off.

Finished. It was fantastic, his writing was so sweet and sincere and unapologetic. #Hemingway #amoveablefeast #paris #classic

I always forget how incredibly lucky I am to be able to purchase books and how easily excisable they are to me. I had had needed to read this first sentence over. #Hemingway #earnesthemingway #amoveablefeast
