Really liking the Storygraph wrap up. Shame it can't easily be shared like Goodreads but I like the stats they give

To no surprise, LGBTQ, fantasy, graphic novels are my most read genres of 2021. This isn't the full genre graph, but everything that's cut off continues to represent one book in a random category, which starts toward the bottom of the visible graphic. #2021wrapup #2021stats

coffees Oh i forgot Storygraph does this, i doubt i had so many categories but I wonder what i got xD 3y
Kenyazero @coffees it's never too late to look, since Storygraph lets you choose different years ;) 3y

I love the stats Storygraph puts out. My book moods were all over the place, but it's no surprise that light-hearted is one of the bigger percentages of my reading.

My original plan was to share my book bullet journal at the end of the year, but it turned out kind of ugly AND it's hard to share that one post at a time.

I'm A few days late with 2021 wrap-up posts. I wish Litsy allowed multiple photos in one post so I could post everything together! 😩
I beat my high reading goal of 200 books, thanks to audiobooks, picture books, and comic issues! That's ~72 print (mostly comics), 93 digital (mostly comics), and 59 audiobooks. #2021Wrapup #2021Stats

coffees I wish that too! 🥺 Also wow, great going, so many reads :0000 🎉🎉 3y
Kenyazero @coffees maybe some day it will! Ha and thanks, it looks more impressive than it is. It's greatly inflated by the comic issues, picture books, and audiobooks 😝 3y

These are the basic stats for all of my reading in 2021. I‘m thrilled with a total of 160 books. This is the first year I listened to more books than I read in print.

Mt. TBR is only books in my possession, whether free, bought, or gifted, before January 1 and read for the first time in 2021. Owned includes books gifted to or bought by me at any time and includes rereads.

thebluestocking Your visuals are great! 💙 Interesting that audio surpassed other forms for you this year. I barely read anything that wasn‘t an audiobook. It‘s odd. Or maybe not. I can do other things while I listen but not while I read. 3y
Daisey Thank you! I still prefer reading in print, but I have also gotten much better at listening to audio while I do other things. 3y
BookBabe This is so cool with your charts! 😃 Really impressive reading year! 🙌🏻 3y
Daisey @BookBabe Thank you! It was a great reading year! 3y

I always enjoy looking at visual representations of my reading at the end of the year.

The top shows my ratings graph from Goodreads. I don‘t give many 5 star ratings, but there are a good number of 4 star ratings. According to Goodreads, my average this year was 3.4.

The bottom is original publication dates of all books read sorted by month. I‘m surprised by how many new books there are throughout the whole year.

Amiable I‘m with you —I usually average 3.3-3.4 on my ratings. A 5-star rating is rare for me —it has to be a phenomenal book. 3y
Lcsmcat Did you create the bottom spreadsheet, or is it from Goodreads or StoryGraph? 3y
Daisey @Lcsmcat I created it. I track the date in my spreadsheet and use conditional formatting for color coding. Then at the end of the year I copy and sort each month to create the bar graph. It went pretty quickly this year since I knew what I was doing. 3y

Lcsmcat @Daisey I may copy that idea! It‘s fun to see it laid out like that. 3y
BarbaraBB I love that idea of keeping track of publication dates. 3y
Daisey @BarbaraBB Goodreads has a graph for publication date, and I thought for a while about a better way to show it because it‘s an aspect I always find interesting. 3y

My year in review: goals met! Some interesting trends in rate of reading throughout the year (summer months look like my highest reading months) and a neat breakdown of genres, format, and fiction vs nonfiction… def need to ramp up on nonfiction on the new year!
Will also pay attention to format on #storygraph going forward cause I know that audio % is way too low 😂 #2021stats #readingstats #thestorygraph
(Booked tagged is last finished of year)

elkeOriginal I have been cleaning my formats in StoryGraph. These graphs help see what is wonky and needs attention. I love it! 3y

Although I still have some reading to finish today, it won‘t change this list. I have a hard time with favorites lists as sometimes a book I really enjoy in the moment is also one I forget. Instead I also consider those that are memorable or seem important to read & share. As of this moment, these are those books from my reading this year. The top row were my top rated & the rest are grouped somewhat by type.

Daisey I won‘t keep the shelf long, but for now the list of books can be found here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list/2408113?shelf=21of21&sort=date_read&order=... 3y
merelybookish I read one time the books we often remember are boring ones or ones we didn't like much because we ended up spending the most time with them. But I know what you mean. It's not always the most enjoyable books that endure. 3y
Daisey @merelybookish I do remember some books I‘ve hated very clearly, but in most cases I feel the books I find memorable while not necessarily enjoyable are the difficult ones that still leave a strong impression because of what they have to say. So, I guess in a way that goes along with your comment, but I also clearly remember some books I love from the first moment as well. 3y
Cinfhen Wonderful, thoughtful choices!! Thanks for sharing 💜 3y

I read another short story today to bring my #1001books total for 2021 to 36 plus 3 rereads. This brings me to a cumulative total of 174 books from the list.

A few were included for #FoodAndLit, and many were completed with the #Reading1001 group on Goodreads. However, I‘ll admit I wasn‘t great about reviewing or participating in discussion there. It includes all 12 of this year‘s #TBRTakedown books.
