I read this for the #2020ReadHarderChallenge (prompt: read a mystery where the victim isn‘t a woman). So much fun! I‘m tearing through this entire series and it‘s a lovely palate cleanser. The queer romance was an unexpected delight too. Love it!

Enjoyed it. It was a quick read that was captivating. I now want to know more about her people, the khoush, the Meduse, what an astrolabe really is, and everything else about this worlds. But that‘s the thing with novellas, they are short and to the point. 😔

Alliterati Then you'll have to read the rest of the trilogy! I picked up my copy last year at an event where the author was speaking, and I keep forgetting my copy is three books in one! I really need to read it. ;] 5y
TheBookAddict @Alliterati I do! I saw that it was a series when I looked for the title to review it. 5y
Alliterati Oh good! Wouldn't want you to miss out on the rest of the story. =] 5y
TheBookAddict @Alliterati 😊 thanks, I‘ll have to check the library. 5y

NOT for everyone: sexual content/abuse themes/raw subjects
Overall a great book well written. Some poems are very erotic. Others way deep. Deal with relationships, not only with your partner but with yourself. If you grasp their meaning, they are inspiring. The ones dealing with assaults are more at the beginning while others more relatable & full of empowerment are at the end. If you are open-minded this book is for you.
