*This really needs to be my main reading challenge for 2017!!

#2017ReadingChallenge
#2017ReadingResolutions!

AmandaL Same here! I need to read the books I buy, not just the books I borrow. 😳 8y
8little_paws I am doing #litsyatoz specifically because I have 25 books that work for it and I only have to borrow one. It's a tbr takedown challenge for me more than anything else. 8y

LitHousewife You and me, both! 8y
Reviewsbylola I have been working on this too. 8y
Beckys_Books You are not alone! 8y
HardcoverHearts In case you are interested, I posted a link to an amazing google spreadsheet that blew my mind this year: here is the YouTube explanation of how it is formulated and the link to the spreadsheet is below it ... https://youtu.be/UCypSgwVSzM 8y
Ellsbeth @HardcoverHearts Wow. I did my first reading spreadsheet in 2016, and this one is blowing my mind. Thanks for posting it! 8y
HardcoverHearts @Ellsbeth - It's too amazing to keep to myself! It makes me excited to fill it in. Haha! Kind of like how the Fitbit makes you want to hit your step goals. And if you make your own copy in google drive, you can access it from your smartphone for on the go updating, which I love!! Happy reading and tracking!! 8y
Ellsbeth @HardcoverHearts I love being more mindful about what I read, and this really helps. I'm already editing/adapting. Thank you!! 8y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @HardcoverHearts @Ellsbeth Ok, you two have convinced me. I need to start a spreadsheet for 2017, Goodreads just isn't enough! 8y
moranadatter I have the same problem. 8y
Ellsbeth @Riveted_Reader_Melissa @HardcoverHearts Hooray! I'm glad you are doing the sheet too. Spreadsheets let me track things I am interested in that Goodreads just doesn't do. (I just got to the part about the map. I'm ecstatic since I've been looking for good ways to do this.) 8y
HardcoverHearts @Riveted_Reader_Melissa , @Ellsbeth - THAT MAP!!! Make sure to set up your categories before diving in. There aren't enough spaces for all countries so you'll need to be strategic in which ones you want to have in the dropdown and to highlight. I'm so glad you all are joining in! 👏🏻 8y
MyNamesParadise That's me too!! 8y

Final stats for 2016! 📚📚📚

Definitely aiming higher in 2017. Maybe 75? What are your targets? Any #2017readingresolutions?

#goodreads #myyearinbooks #stats

britt_brooke 🙌🏻🙌🏻 I'm aiming for 65 in 2017. I read 90 this year, but I really don't see that as a sustainable (for me anyway). 8y
erinreads I read 70 this year after setting my goal at 50, so I think I'm aiming for 75 in 2017! 8y
sherryvdh I think I'm going to aim for 75 in 2017. I read about 65 this year, and I want to be realistic in my goals but still challenge myself. 8y

Redwritinghood I read 92 books in 2016, but I'll probably set my goal at 75 for 2017. 8y
Bostonmomx2 I did 100 this year and will hope for the same next 😊 8y
Pemberley My main resolution is to actually track the books I read!! I am horrible with keeping track with what I've read, and then at the end of the year I don't know what the number is. I'm shooting for around 80 though. 8y
HeatherBookNerd Shootufor 60 in 2017 8y
mhillis 🙌🙌I'm going to go for 50 again! 8y
Reviewsbylola 🎉🎉🎉 I read 117 this year so I think I'll aim for 125-130. 8y
Michelle_mck Congratulations- I'm aiming for 52 again this year@- I read 104 this year but still want to keep my total at 52 - I don't want the pressure of a big target just in case I have a slump 8y
DebinHawaii Great job! I have not decided my goal yet. I blew past last year's goal but am afraid this year will be harder. 📚👍🎉 8y
Daisey I'll probably set my goal for 100 again next year. I'd rather go over than feel stressed to make it at the end of the year. 8y
TheCanuckReader I got 53 for my 50 goal for 2016. Trying 100 for 2017@ 8y
ClairesReads Nice work! I always start with a goal of 52- then adjust if I'm overachieving 8y
obviateit Great job! I had to go back and check that I'd logged Cursed Child when I saw yours here, because for some reason it credited The Martian as my most popular. 🤔 8y
Marchpane @obviateit oh wow that's interesting! I wonder if the most/least popular is based on all time numbers rather than just 2016? 8y
obviateit @Marchpane 🤔🤔🤔 it's even showing The Martian as a smaller number than Cursed Child. It's blowing my mind a little bit lol. 8y
obviateit Hubby just presented a theory that maybe it's the amount of people who read it by the time I read it. That would make sense, but I don't know how they'd track it. 8y

RohitSawant Great (and chilling) read. Thanks for sharing. 8y
BookishMarginalia Resonant. "As our politics have grown increasingly tribalistic and our discourse has been flooded with propaganda and “fake news,” reality has become more and more illusory. Now a dangerous demagogue who could have only been dreamed up by the collective imagination of Orwell and Huxley has risen to power by crafting his own absurd reality." Thanks for sharing. 8y

ReadingEnvy Also a lesser known book by Jack London, 8y
Marchpane @rohit-sawant @BookishMarginalia the extract from Orwell's diary felt eerily accurate 😟 @ReadingEnvy thanks for this rec Jenny, I'll add that to my list! 8y
Libby1 All 3 authors you mentioned are excellent. 8y
