pickThis was a wild ride! I love character driven stories with solid world building- and my emotions were drawn in- this had some serious sections including violence and complex character development- i continue to be impressed with the series and am so glad im finally reading it!
pickBook 3 of the KOTLC series finished. Messenger is a favorite author of mine. I love her character development and the way she weaves her storylines.

I have enjoyed this entire YA fantasy series. My teen daughter and I have a blast reading these together.
This book Started out like the last two. everything seemed like Sophie's life was looking OK. I was reading before bed last night (I probably stayed up to late 😅) And I went to bed crying tears of pure anger. I am so mad at the councilors! How could they do that to poor Sophie? to be honest, all that is keeping from flinging this book halfway across the world, is The amazing character Keefe. Why you gotta be so mean to your characters Messenger?

Shannon Messenger has once again completely blown my mind with her incredible stories! I wish I had even an ounce of her talent to make you feel love and hate for the characters. Now I have to rush off to the bookstore to buy the next one😁
