“Is it ok if I pretend you‘re an insurance salesman for awhile?”
“Sure.”
“How was your day dear?”
“I almost sold a policy, but the client gave me the finger and got away.”
Week 3! Improved from last week ☺️ #bookfitnesschallenge #bfc #bfcr2 @wanderinglynn
“Call on the devil to save you, you limb of Satan,” Doyle yelled down at her. —this made me laugh out loud
Funny book! Really relaxing to listen to as an #audiobook.
I did some #audiodyeing, followed by #audiocleaning - I tried to not make a mess. The fabric is supposed to be just where it is right now, to keep the sun out in the morning.
#BFC @wanderinglynn - dip-dyeing and cleaning made up 2k steps. Not bad. 😉
What a great book. Funny, sweet, and filled with action. I'm kind of sorry it's not a series.
This is definitely chick lit of the rated R variety, but it was very entertaining and make me laugh. Agnes is a food writer who recently bought a house, is hosting a wedding, and making the wedding cake. And also somebody just tried to kidnap her dog and he fell into the basement she didn‘t know about and died. That‘s the first few pages! Fast paced and very funny.
Agnes makes breakfast for everyone, so here‘s the best pancakes I ever had!
Started this one on audio yesterday--super fun so far! I had never heard of it before now. Has anyone else read this?
Turning to an old friend after a trying day. Books and cats are so reliable!
If you like funny books and/or romances that are lighter, this is a good pick. While I enjoyed it, I couldn't give it a "pick" on my personal scale because I didn't love Agnes.
On my second time through this hilarious romance. Jennifer Crusie and Bob Mayer are now in my top 5 authors guaranteed to make me laugh!
My third for #bookisholympics is a re-read. This book is completely ridonkulous - and I absolutely love it. I think I first read this when it came out almost a decade ago and reading it again is just as fun. Agnes is fantastic: capable, confident, and relatable. She is put through the wringer in a week: assassination attempts, crumbling house in need of repairs, a wedding to put on, mobbish connections, and she keeps her humor throughout. 😃
Instead of jumping on the good omens bandwagon (even though I want to!), I'm going to pick another book for day 16: Agnes and the Hitman. I'm currently re-reading this for #bookisholympics and it's crazy fun. Jennifer Crusie and Bob Mayer make a good team. Agnes is trying to fix up her failing southern estate in time for a wedding. Hijinks (and romance) ensue. #augustofpages #augustphotochallenge (photo borrowed from the Internet)
I'm not much of a romance reader, but this has enough humor to keep me reading. I read it a few years ago and then found it again in a box from my aunt last week. Just what I need tonight.
