I was a bit reluctant to read this one for various reasons, but it was actually okay. There were plenty of scenes with Peabody, & even Summerset, & Galahad (the cat) had larger roles in this book, & you can never have too much Galahad. I did think it should have been about 50 pages shorter though as the case dragged a little towards the end. 4🌟
TW: death of child, violence, mention of domestic abuse.
⭐⭐⭐⭐
20 books into the series, and I'm enjoying it just as much. While there's some repetition between books, and I probably would feel over them if I tried to read them all in one go, digging into one or two a month works for me. I could've done with more Peabody and Mavis, but all in all this one was solid. The narrator is terrific, as always.
Number 20 of the In Death series. I started listening to this series on audible several years ago and it just keeps getting better and better! Susan Eriksen is a great narrator, and Eve, Roarke, Peabody and the rest of the gang keep me highly entertained. I already have the next book in my queue. A great way to spend part of my #stayhome24in48 weekend
Roarke is the epitome of fictional #attraction for me, and has been for 44 books. *fans self* 😍 #sweetemotions
This book was exactly what I needed. Fast paced and intense along with a mystery that kept my attention the entire time. The In Death series is a personal favorite for these reasons alone!
