Matt, a struggling suicidal playwright, and his college friend Davis, a newly successful editor, are in Amsterdam where the brash, Don-Juan Davis hires a whore for Matt, who obsessively falls for Christina – a spark in his bleak world. A year later she appears in NYC looking for Davis. While the ideas may be cliched and the plot thin, the language is car-wreck compelling.
