I have approx 25 lbs of peaches to deal with; about 5 lbs are being made into peach butter, and the rest I'm going to slice and can. Of course I'm standing here wondering what in the world I was thinking, asking for peaches in lieu of gas money for driving my partner out to the farm stands.

cmckinnon I had never heard of peach butter until a few days ago when my wife said she was going to make some. Now I see it here. How funny. Speaking of peaches, I made peach muffins for breakfast and my wife made a peach pie for dessert tonight. Yum! 8y

bookishkai @Melli if I were a drinker, I might, but neither my partner nor I do, so it would go to waste. @minkyb peach butter is the same consistency of apple butter or super thick apple sauce, not quite as sweet as jam, and is made just by cooking it down, not adding any pectin. From what I tasted on a spoon, it's delicious. 8y
