My WordPress book blog has a fresh new look thanks to the banner designed by Filipino graphic artist Clarissa Ines. I talk about the design process on my blog, starting from the draft sketches up until the final design. This is just a cropped shot, the whole design can be seen here: https://chachic.wordpress.com/2017/08/15/new-blog-banner-by-clarissa-ines/

robinb Beautiful! ❤️ 7y
Chachic @RachelO @robinb She really did! This square icon is just a cropped pic, the full design is on the blog. The whole thing looks like a book cover.💖📖 7y

rockpools @Chachic And it looks great! 7y
robinb @Chachic oh wow, just went to the link....gorgeous! Love the book cover concept and the soft color palette. It has a whimsical vibe to it! 7y
Chachic @RachelO I think so too.🙌 7y
Chachic @robinb Right? I think it has a touch of whimsy too, like an old fairy tale book cover.💖📖 7y
robinb @Chachic Exactly!! 7y
Chachic @robinb She did such a good job, did you see the process starting from the sketch? I'm not artistic so I loved all the updates.😍 7y
espressodream It's finally up!!!! 👍 looks really good ❤ 7y
Chachic @espressodream It looks awesome! Check it out on your iPad or laptop if you get the chance, looks even better on a bigger screen.😃👌 7y
espressodream I did! If u checked wordpress i like it there too 😂 but i felt commenting the samething everywhere looks weird 🤣 7y
Chachic @espressodream Haha! Yeah I only get notifications for WordPress comments, not likes.😂 I think it's also nice for the graphic artist to see the comments about her work. 7y
robinb @Chachic I missed the sketches but went back to look. Love to see the whole process! And you chose the one I think I would have chosen, but the others were wonderful as well. Very talented artist! 7y
Chachic @robinb Other friends are saying the third option would have been nice too. But I'm happy with what I got.😊 She's a Filipino artist! Also happy to have been able to support someone local. 7y

Over at my blog, I talk about being book bungry (feeling the need to buy books) vs. book full (feeling like I have way too many books): https://chachic.wordpress.com/2017/08/08/book-hungry-vs-book-full/

I have a WordPress book blog, which I've had since 2010. I used to feel guilty about not being able to blog more. But I've learned to not be too hard on myself, and that it's also easier for me to update stuff on my phone. Which is why I prefer Litsy nowadays!

I talked about it here: https://chachic.wordpress.com/2017/08/04/book-blogging-over-the-years/

MarriedtoMrT I used to blog but then I found GoodReads and reviewing there felt like so much less pressure that I let my blog go. It did start feeling like work. I'm glad you found a good balance. I wish I had kept the blog because I had a lot of content and now it's all gone. 7y
Chachic @MarriedtoMrT I have blog friends who stopped blogging too, and just kept Goodreads and Instagram. And they say they miss blogging. So I'm glad I kept my blog even though there are some months when I have no posts at all. I really hope Litsy can be embedded on WordPress soon so I can start cross-posting. 7y
MarriedtoMrT I checked for laughs and my blog is still there! https://bookworm4life.wordpress.com/ I had a Blogger one when I first started. Really don't remember what that was but pretty stoked this one is still around! 7y
MarriedtoMrT So now I was inspired to rebrand it with my current reading username so the above link won't work. Here's the new one: https://marriedtomrtreads.wordpress.com 7y
Chachic @MarriedtoMrT Oh yay, that's great that your old blog was still active! I didn't know that you could just change your username and still keep your content. WordPress is great, isn't it, 7y
