These people are just not serious. A credit card spending limit of $1 for purchases and travel expenses?!?
As a #longtimefed I was under strict limitations about how I spent funds. To buy a box of paper or subscription to an academic journal or pay for a translation, I had to have approval from multiple people. Then, to have the bill paid, I had to submit several pages for each purchase.
FYI, the credit card was the required payment method.

Aims42 😳😳😳 This just sounds like piling on more paperwork and red tape? How does this fix anything?? 2w

Tamra We can expect some really quality service from the fed government here on out. 🙄 (edited) 2w
ImperfectCJ @Aims42 You've hit the nail on the head...they're not trying to fix things; they're trying to break things. It's just not clear why, except to make themselves the only other option so they can consolidate power (and contracts). 2w
Susanita @Aims42 A $1 spending limit is, of course, absurd. I guess he thinks he found some more fraud? There‘s always going to be someone trying to game the system, but those cases are very rare and the people get caught. That‘s why the people who don‘t cheat have to justify every purchase thoroughly. 2w
marleed I remember when the govt credit cards became the norm for travel. Before that we received a wad of cash for travel. Not only were the credits cards safer but it was an automatic audit trail on how govt funds were used in travel. As a retired DoD civil servant, how DOGE is conducting business is making me so angry. 1w
Susanita @marleed Yes, the travel cards brought their own headaches but on balance made things much easier. 1w
The_Penniless_Author Wow, I hadn't even heard about this until now. Of course, as travel has been 99.9% suspended for my agency, I guess it's a moot point. 😄 1w
TieDyeDude Meanwhile, Frump has already spent tens of millions on golf trips, the Super Bowl, and other events that no one wants him at. I love that the Eagles are refusing a White House visit. 1w
Susanita @TieDyeDude In the unlikely event he comes to another Nationals game, I can boo him now because I‘m not a government employee anymore. 1w
