Incredibly powerful, brutal poems by a man who soon after writing these was murdered horrifically by Indonesian invaders in 1975. His stand for his people's liberty took over 25 years to become a reality. After surviving the Portuguese, Dutch, Japanese, and Indonesians, Timor Leste finally became independent in the early 2000s.
