They’re in the number one watched game in the world… or so they were told. But they have no memory of who or where they are. Something beyond their wildest imaginations awaits to mercilessly strike them down. And looming in the darkness is something worse... much worse.
Green—named after the color of car he\'s driving—awakens on the side of a dark highway surrounded by dense forest. And he\'s in an old muscle car with no way to tell time, no cell phone, and the radio doesn’t work. When he encounters others like himself, they have to join forces to unravel the mystery surrounding them. Yet, trust doesn\'t come easily—someone amongst them is a saboteur.
With their lives at stake, they are compelled to engage in a race where being last means certain death. They must disentangle the truth that threatens to consume them, before they spiral out of control.

Pickpick

A man suddenly wakes up to find himself at the wheel of a stationary car. He has no memory of who he is or what he is doing there, but he knows he is in danger from a ferocious monster. Heading down the road, he comes upon a petrol station & restaurant where people are gathered all with similar cars but in different colours. (continued)

OutsmartYourShelf The man finds out that he is named Green (after the colour of the car & the clothes he is wearing) & they are all competing in a race filmed for the number one watched game in the world. At stake is a prize worth multi-millions but the losers & their families are put to death. Green can\'t believe that he would volunteer for such a race so why is he here? 2mo
OutsmartYourShelf Wow, this was certainly different. I really liked the concept & the feeling of not knowing what is going on - it makes you empathise with the drivers so much more. The storyline was well worked out & it keeps the reader engaged. On the downside, the world-building wasn\'t quite as developed as I would have liked, even after a huge information dump in the final chapters, & you are left with several questions afterwards. 2mo
OutsmartYourShelf Not sure if this could possibly lead to a sequel or not? Overall, this book was entertaining & fast-paced but leaves you wondering. 4🌟

My thanks to #NetGalley & publishers, BooksGoSocial, for the opportunity to read an ARC.

TWs: violence, death, blood, arachnids.
