Two mauled bodies in the woods. Top secret autopsies. The most chilling cases of Scarpettas career. In this thrilling new installment of Patricia Cornwells #1 bestselling Scarpetta series, chief medical examiner Dr. Kay Scarpetta finds herself in a Northern Virginia wilderness examining the remains of two campers wanted by federal law enforcement. The victims have been savaged beyond recognition, and other evidence is terrifying and baffling, including a larger-than-life footprint. After one of the most frightening body retrievals of her career, Scarpetta must discover who would commit murders this savage, and why.

Patricia Cromwell knows how to write a very good book. Dead bodies, twisted logic and down-right evil can be discovered as you turn the pages. Intriguing and thriller aspects are everywhere you can imagine. 4.25/5

I‘m doing a re-read of the earlier books in this series since it‘s been many years since I‘ve read them, but this is this most recent release. #27 in the Kay Scarpetta series

OMG! Patricia Cornwall has done it again. This novel is a Kay Scarpetta classic. Weird shit, brutal murders, Russian spies, drones, bad ass helicopters, bad characters, Bigfoot(?), it‘s all here. The suspense had me on the edge of my seat. The bad news? I‘ve read it and there‘s not another one waiting. The good news? I loved, devoured this book! More, please! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
