Well this was delightful, festive, and very gay. A teenager home for Christmas during the first semester of college -- where he is flunking his theatre classes, even though it's his dream to be an actor -- and applies for a job as a mall elf. The job entails a big competition with a cash prize to promote the mall, and one of Cam's fellow elves is a cute, very chipper guy named Marco. These two! Fun subplots too, called Cam's dad's secret romance.
I‘m off to a solid start for this year‘s LGBTQIA+ Book Bingo! It‘s also been a lot of fun seeing what everyone else is reading. Thanks for tagging me in your posts!

Cam, back from college for winter break, works through rekindled old feelings (and new) and a clash between his new college self and who he‘s always been at home. I almost bailed after 15 minutes but decided to stick it out just a bit longer and wound up enjoying it. Such a fun holiday romance! The characters all grew on me quickly, and it was great getting to slowly step into each of their lives. #LGBTQIA #Holidays
A freshman home from college and thinking of dropping out after a rough first semester becomes an elf at the local mall, not knowing it also involves a competition with a big cash prize. If only he wasn't competing against a cute guy he may just be developing a crush on. This was a cute YA holiday romance and even inspired me to have a cookie party with friends for Christmas.
Just what I expected: mostly lighthearted/fun, despite understandable teen angst.
