Historical romance with a Mexican heiress and a British politician. It was okay, low pick. Diverse but not much different than your typical historical romance.
I‘m kind of over historical romances lately, because they all seem the same. 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️

This was a good story, fast read.
Forbidden romance, historical.
It wasn't anything to rave about, but it was enjoyable
When the French take over Mexico, the Luna sisters are sent to London to be safe and to raise sympathy for their people‘s plight.
The oldest, Ana Maria revels in the freedom. When she catches the attention of Gideon Fox, she struggles to remember the fiancé she left behind.
Gideon Fox is a politician working to end the slave trade across the empire but he can‘t keep himself away from Ana Maria.
It‘s between a pick and so-so, so I‘m giving it the pick. I‘m not a big historical fan so that could be why I feel this way.
Edit: after further consideration it‘s really just so-so
Very cute story, Interesting characters, a bit of history, and a sweet romance!
This is the first book in the Luna Sisters series and this one is about Ana María and Gideon Fox. I read this book in a day because I just couldn‘t get enough of their chemistry and their story. I definitely look forward to the other books coming in the series. Also what caught my attention was this cover! It is ?!
Enjoyable, diverse historical romance. I liked the characters and the bits of science and Mexican history. Beautiful cover.
This was a fun ride from start to finish, even if Gideon and Ana María got kind of instalove-y once they were married. Their chemistry was PERFECT, tho, and I loved their political goals and care for their communities, so I'm not at all complaining. Can't wait for Isa and Gabby's books!! #historicalromance
I really liked this spin on the typical Recency romance - this featured a member of Parliament who is mixed race and descended from an enslaved woman who escaped the Americas to England. He meets and falls in love with a Mexican heiress who is fleeing unrest in her country. It had all your typical romance tropes but also some interesting historical and cultural details as well. Overall a Fun read!
This was a lovely historical romance about a Mexican heiress who flees to London with her two younger sisters and meets a standoffish member of parliament working to end the slave trade for good. A romance between them is a bad idea for so many reasons, but when the sisters are threatened Gideon Fox proposes a marriage arrangement that just might save the day. And since they're both secretly quite smitten, falling in love shouldn't be an issue.
