Jess, a cottage witch has to team up with a handsome stranger to save her home town from an evil rift. Jess finds out she is the ‘chosen one‘ and now searches for the ‘Bringer of light‘. Jess must learn to trust others in the hope she can work her magic in time.
This entertaining paranormal romance had me captivated from the start. A fast paced cute yet delightful read. Highly recommended for readers of romance and witch stories.
I‘ve been saving up my witch themed books for the rest of October. Here‘s the one I started today 🧙
What a weird little story lol the plot was fairly predictable and the climax was pretty lackluster but I really enjoyed the characters. They were funny and real. A plus sized FMC whose personality wasn‘t all about being plus sized was nice to see. As was the diversity and LGBTQIA+ characters.
The insta-love trope was kinda 🙄 but with the short timeline of the book, it was the only way to make it happen.
Jessica was banned from the World Council of Witches for dangerous magic. So, when Derrick tells her she‘s the Chosen One to save the town from evil, she‘s skeptical. Can she learn to trust herself & others, especially Derrick, in time?
This was kinda boring. It was slow for most of it. I liked that the MC was plus size, but she kinda got annoying. I wanted more romance, spice, & comedy. The magic was ok.
Cute love story for sure. Loved the small town setting and the spooky fall plot line. Definitely less on the intellectual side of things and a bit predictable but was perfect for a fun low stakes read
Meg Cabot‘s books can be hit or miss for me. Fortunately, this one was a hit! Is it silly? Yes. Did I see all of the “twists” coming? Also, yes (or almost all of them). Did that make me enjoy it any less? Nope!
I think the only place where Cabot fails is when men share dialog with one another; if I had a nickel for every time a male character called another one “bro” or “man”….👇🏻
Oh, this was FUN. Maybe not always as deep as I wanted (because I never wanted to leave), but pure entertainment from start to finish. Meg Cabot knows how to be sweet and funny while telling a cohesive story, that's for sure. #romcom #paranormalromance
A fun and witchy seasonal read with just enough spice to make it a page turner!
A fun, witchy, fall Goodreads win! 🔮✨
(Side note: hard to read the title to myself without hearing T Swift 🎵)
I‘m over the 107 degree heat indexes & have been sitting with blanket in front of the fan manifesting fall. Not my favorite Meg Cabot but it was cute and fun. 🧙♀️🧙♀️🧙♀️🧙♀️
Omg, this was so cute and so fun! I had the best time reading this and just zipped right through. I liked that it asked us to just believe, and made a point of marking everyone already believe; I find it annoying when the book spends so much time with characters trying to convince other characters that magic is real. All the characters were pretty likeable and I‘m looking forward to the next book.
