“Like all antics, the game flops because of its own unwieldiness, its own excess of desire, its own desire so big and raw and exposed that it can‘t be satiated, but instead must get performed.”

Three Queer couples spend Christmas to New Year‘s together in a converted farmhouse in upstate New York. This was an overwhelmingly detailed and uncomfortable book. Not due to queerness, but because the main character, Sasha is so awful and up her own butt. There‘s some interesting commentary on the performative aspects of gender and femme vs butch lesbianism, but not enough to counteract the self absorption and superficiality of the rest of it.
#RecentAcquisitions Well, I didn‘t mean to get any new books this week, but what are you gonna do? 🤷🏻♀️😂 People is a blame it on @Hooked_on_books . Holly knows how much I love short stories! Dykette is from the #CampLitsy23 longlist, and Three looked good when I was picking up my hold.
I hope everyone has a great weekend! Hostas are blooming. 😁
Whoa! What a wild ride😅 I was completely out of my depth but consumed by the DRAMA unfolding between three lesbian couples who spend the Christmas holiday together. Like watching a Real Housewives reunion, this book was super entertaining but at some point it all goes south. One part was a bit too graphic ( for me) and the aftershocks became the catalyst for some real melodrama that I found more grating than gratifying. #ALC #NetGalley #TryIt
😳🫣😳🫣😱😱74% Oh?! Ok, I wasn‘t expecting that….
#ALC #NetGalley 🍌 👖‼️ Im honestly overwhelmed (in a good way) this book is the QUEEREST QUEER novel I‘ve ever read and I‘m #HereForIt 😁I wish this makes it to #CampLitsy23 because the discussions would be HILARIOUS 😂 3 lesbian couples travel upstate for a holiday getaway where tensions, jealousies and cattiness ABOUNDS😸thanks for putting this on my #ReadersRadar @MicheleinPhilly
