Prompt: DOWN FOR THE COUNT
Not sure it is down for the count…looks like the count is adding up. ?
The murders started with a dead man in a stolen car barreling down a steep hill, and another one was a dead man being burned in a bonfire.
But that wasn‘t the end of the bodies.
The count kept getting higher.

I'm going with the final book in a great series that I've enjoyed over a few years. I'd love frieda to come back at some point.
Among my weekend reading was the finale of the frieda klein series. Thuis has been a very enjoyable set of books in which the psychotherapist investigated numerous crimes but always with the shadow of the protagonist from bk 1, Dean Reeve, in the background. In the final episode the eventual clash builds to a thrilling climax. I do hope frieda returns one day.
The 8th and final book in the Frieda Klein series.
This starts not long after the previous book.
From the first book there has been an underlying story that reaches its conclusion in this one.
Since this is the final book, I won‘t say anything more, because SPOILERS.
I'm sure you are all like me in the library, the sweetshop of the mind. I despair sometimes when I am constantly buying books that I can still take 2 books back and leave with 6 !! Anyway i'll finish the tagged bk in the series , then 3 of these will help me finish #booked2022 Summer. The only problem is what to read first.
Thanks to these Litsy folks for today‘s prompt:

Highly recommend this series. Incredibly satisfying
I have enjoyed every one of the books in this series. This final installment left me feeling sad, I have come to know Frieda well over these 8 books and I have eagerly waited for each new release. This fitting ending to the story of Freida Klein and Dean Reeve was just what I expected, and more.
Oh Frieda I shall miss you.
Oh no I‘ve finished the Frieda Klein Series, how will I possibly get by without my Frieda fix! This was a wonderful end to the series and plenty of tension & a few twists to unpick before the end. I cannot recommend this series highly enough, one of the best series (8 books) that I have read where the story builds on the previous book as part of a big story being told. If you do read it you must read them in order however. Goodbye Frieda & thanks
A fantastic ending to a superb series! Highly recommended! The final meeting of Frieda and her nemesis, Dean, is approaching. He gives on giving her bodies as clues to what is coming. A student wants to research Frieda and ends up being a vital part in the nasty game monitored by Dean. No one is safe, and Frieda is hiding from everyone to keep the people she loves alive. There is no way of avoiding a final confrontation with Dean.
Starting the final book of the #FreidaKlein Series which I am reading with @Tove_Reads We have read books 2-8 together since August. Very interested to see how this whole story line is brought to a conclusion.
@Tove_Reads We have struggled to keep to a schedule with these as we have needed to carry on reading so planning to read the first half of the book today (up to chapter 26) and the rest tomorrow. That then leaves me free to start Heartstone.
Starting this series with the final book paid off really well for me! When I started, I didn‘t have the longstanding attachment to Frieda Klein that many readers already have in place, but when I met her: I liked her at once. I‘m INTRIGUED by the strange cat-and-mouse relationship she has with the bad guy Dean Reeve, which has apparently lasted throughout the series. Enough so that I‘m curious enough to go back and start with book one.
I‘m doing the unthinkable here and starting this series with the final book. Just started it early this morning ☕️ Several chapters in and I like the quick pace.
Great ending to the Frieda Klein series. I was anxious for the final showdown between Frieda and Dean Reeves. You know there will be murder all around the plot and the authors did not disappoint. We were introduced to a new character in this book. Lola Hayes, a student, who is doing her dissertation on Frieda. Many twists and turns until Reeves is finally apprehended. I highly recommended reading this series in order. NetGalley early review.
5 ⭐️
The end of the Frieda Klein series by husband-wife team, Nicci French.
What a fantastic series this is. Frieda is a challenging character. But by the love, admiration, & support of her confidants, we see a woman with dedication & loyalty unequalled. It earns her friends & foes, & this is the culmination of her struggle with a killer. If you have an interest in mysteries, get Blue Monday - you‘ll blow through this series in no time.

I have modest plans for this @DeweysReadathon - I just want to read these two beauties, mixed in with my audiobook.
And I‘m starting the Day of the Dead now 💀

Calling all Freida Kline fans....don't miss this last book in the series.
Readers who enjoy suspense, twists and turns, stubborn characters, and a killer who knows how to allude everyone will enjoy this book.

Brilliant ending to the series 👍🏻 I thought number 7 would be the last one even though it didn‘t tie everything up. Was more than happy to have another outing with Frieda - who is a brilliant character.
If you want a new series there are only 8 in this one @MicheleinPhilly 😘
Just finished DAY OF THE DEAD by Nicci French.
Review will be on August 10.
Another suspense-filled book.
Sorry to hear it is the last in the series.
Have you read her books?
@WilliamMorrowBooks
I've read most all of the Frieda Klein mysteries and each one is better than the last. Frieda's (and Nicci's) mind works in mysterious ways and makes connections that are beyond me. I love that Frieda is a walker and uses that time to be an observer and also to think things out. This was a very satisfying book.
