Henry VIII: The Heart and the Crown
Henry VIII: The Heart and the Crown: Tudor Rose Novel 2 | Alison Weir
The magnificent new Tudor novel from Alison Weir, author of the Sunday Times-bestselling Six Tudor Queens series. This is Henry VIII - his side of the story. A young boy grows up dreaming of knights and chivalry. Harry is the second son. He is never meant to rule. But the death of his brother changes everything, and great destiny awaits this young prince. One day he will be the most infamous king in English history. HENRY VIII. HIS STORY. --- PRAISE FOR ALISON WEIR'S NOVELS OF THE TUDORS 'With Elizabeth of York, Alison Weir gives us her most compelling heroine yet... This is where the story of the Tudors begins and is historical fiction at its absolute best' Tracy Borman 'History has the best stories and they should all be told like this' Conn Iggulden 'This series is a serious achievement' The Times 'Weir is excellent on the little details that bring a world to life' Guardian 'This brilliant series has brought Henry VIII's six wives to life as never before' Tracy Borman 'Profoundly moving... lingers long after the last page' Elizabeth Fremantle 'Well researched and engrossing' Good Housekeeping 'Vivid characters and a wonderful sense of time and place' Barbara Erskine 'Hugely enjoyable . . . Alison Weir knows her subject and has a knack for the telling and textural detail' Daily Mail

Pickpick

This is a fascinating and vivid interpretation of Henry VIII‘s life. It‘s well researched and really brought him to life for me. Henry was a wily old fox but quite a grim and complex character, too. It makes for compelling reading and is an excellent piece of historical fiction. At over 600 pages it‘s not short, but it‘s very entertaining and quite the page turner. I‘m now looking forward to reading the last three Six Tudor Queens. #Pigeonhole

Birdsong28 Have you seen that she is doing e shorts again to go along with this series? 2y
VanessaCW @Birdsong28 yes, I‘ve noticed the novella type books. I haven‘t bought or read any, though. Have you? I‘ve read the Six Tudor Queens series up to Jane Seymour. Alison Weir really brings them to life. 1y
Birdsong28 @VanessaCW The novellas do add something to the series so I would give them a try. With the six queens series I am on the last one Catherine Parr. I have started this series yet but it does look good. I met Alison Weir 4 years ago and she was talking about the Anna of Kleve book. It was so good. 1y
VanessaCW @Birdsong28 I will do, thank you. How lovely to meet Alison Weir. Yes, Anna of Kleve was one of the luckier wives! 😄. I‘m looking forward to reading it. 1y
Birdsong28 @VanessaCW If you buy the book that has got all the novella in it you get an extra one that was only published in America in a magazine!! I bought the book version even though I had them all digitally as I thought it was nice to have them all complied together but didn't realise that until I read the introduction to it! 1y

I adore reading about Henry VIII, a very neurotic individual. Fun to read about, though I‘d not like to meet him! #NeuroticSociety #FierceFeb

batsy Oh yes! Even in the form of Jonathan Rhys Meyers he was a huge pain 🙄😆 7y
melyndarae I love reading about him too. When I first started The Tudors, I read all the info I could find about him. I love The Other Boleyn Girl. I probably know more about that time than I should lol. 7y
Librarybelle @batsy @melyndarae He‘s a guy you love to hate! But, such a fascinating period! 7y
