Agent Pendergast faces his latest challenge in this next installment of the #1 NYT bestselling series by acclaimed authors Preston and Child, the second in the Leng Trilogy. Against all odds, Constance has found a way back to the place of her origins, New York City in the late 1800s. She sets off on a quest to prevent the events that lead to the deaths of her sister and brother, and stop Manhattan's most infamous serial killer, Dr. Enoch Leng, before his nefarious experiments come to fruition. Meanwhile, in present-day New York, Agent Pendergast is desperate to find a way to reunite with Constance - but will he find a way before it's too late? 'White-hot bestselling suspense. Simply brilliant!' Lisa Gardner on Preston and Child 'Sit back, crack open the book and get ready for the ride of your life' David Baldacci on Preston and Child

Fantastic. The Pendergast series is a fun foray into mystery/thriller/sci-fi.

brittanyreads Do you have to read them in order or can they be standalones? I always see them at my library book store but they are usually just random books in the series. They sound so great though!! 6mo
Shemac77 You get a little more out of them when you read them in order but you don‘t have to. There‘s 21 books in the series so far and they‘re broken up into mini series as well within the mainframe of the series. I would give them a try, I quite enjoy them. @brittanyreads 6mo

Mehso-so

This novel was a hard one for me. I went in knowing that it was the 21st novel in the series, however I assumed, to my detriment, that it was a series that did not build upon the previous novels as much as it did; I thought it would be more like Agatha Christie‘s Poirot, and that they would all be separate entities. This made it difficult for me to follow the story. That aside, I enjoyed the mystery that is contained within this novel.

A continuation from the previous book, and it ends on a cliff-hanger. I do t want to give away any spoilers, o just knowing am waiting for the final book to come out.

🌟🌟🌟🌟and book 21 is complete! Although a bit slow at the start, it builds to an exciting cliffhanger. Looking forward to the finale!

🎧 BITCH MOVE! 😆😡♥️

This book is SLOW. The last 20% is a roller coaster ride of excitement & ends on a climax - utter cliff hanger! 100% back stabbing cliff hanger! 😩

This is part of a 4 part story arc … The Cabinet of Curiosities, Bloodless, this book & the next.

I loved book 3 so this story arc has been interesting!! I look forward to the next book! I‘m still mad it‘s half a book. LOL there‘s old and new characters, good & evil.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I do not really like the time travel aspect of the story, but I still found myself involved the storyline. I really came into this series for the mysteries, and that is still my favorite part. It was nice to see Constance come up against a worthy opponent in Dr. Leng. Sometimes she seems so self assured that it feels like she can do no wrong, so it is nice to see her get her comeuppance. And once again it is Pendergast to her rescue.

tyoung2058 Fantastic series 2y
