Bright Winter Night
Bright Winter Night | Alli Brydon
3 posts | 3 read | 4 to read
The forest calls, and creatures come: big and small, one by one. They sense there is a task to do as night descends, replacing blue. On one bright winter night, a group of woodland creatures emerges from the forest. Despite their differences, they start to build something together, using items found on the forest floor. What are they making? And how quickly can they build it? Something special is happening tonight, and soon the animals are off--in a race to catch a glimpse of one of nature's most astounding wonders! With lyrical text and sparkling artwork, Bright Winter Night is a celebration of the joy and beauty of nature and the special gift of friendship and togetherness.

None of the Kindle First Reads really spoke to me this month, so I decided to try out the children‘s offering. I turned the heat on for the first time today (a month and a half later than usual, climate change is terrifying!) so today seemed like a good day to read something cold and snowy. It‘s a sweet story about the animals of the forest working together to go see the northern lights. I‘d give it a soft pick. #NovelNovember @Andrew65

Aimeesue I thought the same about the picks. Lately I've been taking the children's books every time. 2y
IndoorDame @Aimeesue back when we used to get 2 each month I always used to take the children‘s pick as one, but I so often felt meh about them that I got out of the habit. I do love that they always offer something for kids though! 2y
AnnR @Aimeesue @IndoorDame - Lately, I've been choosing the children's selection, too.
Thanks for the thoughtful review, IndoorDame. Even if I don''t end up loving the book, at least it's short. I'll probably read this one in December.

Andrew65 This looks fun, always to know which of the First Read books to choose. 2y
