New Terrors | 
I‘ve been quiet on Litsy since Tuesday. I couldn‘t read for a few days. Life as we know it changed on Tuesday. I wrote the above to my friends the other day and I doubt this feeling will go away anytime soon. I have so many thoughts about our future but will save those for another forum. I will say though that as readers, especially of history, we can feel the danger. I just wanted folks to know that this white senior citizen voted for the future.

AllDebooks It's a very scary time, and the damage will be done globally. Take time to address your fears and anger, then ask yourself what you can do. Building supportive communities that protect the vulnerable is one. Love and compassion are always the answer, not hate and division. Unfortunately, the whole world has to deal with a President Elect who has nothing but the latter on his mind. It's up to us as citizens to stand up and say NO!!! 4mo

Suet624 @AllDebooks thank you for sharing your thoughts. I live in Vermont and by and large we are focused on community. We take care of each other. That being said, our state had a bit of a red wave here too. So I will work now to ensure that our reps stay true to our desire to be a port in the storm for people of all persuasions. 4mo

Suet624 @AmyG I think that's what a lot of people don't understand - that midterms and next elections may just go by the wayside or be manipulated by misinformation and Russian interference. So I'm with you on this. 4mo

Graywacke @Suet624 I‘m with you. Most Americans that actually voted voted for a time-bomb, in full knowledge of what they were voting for. Meanwhile something like 1/8 of Biden voters didn‘t even vote. I‘m bitter and sad. But, take care of yourself first. Hugs. 4mo

Cuilin The grief and pain is absolutely real. I live in New Hampshire, which you know is also blue yet people who voted for Kamala Harris also elected a pro Trump Governor, it makes no sense. 4mo
Deblovestoread Exactly this. And somehow those of us who care are going to have to find the strength to pick up the pieces and help those who are damaged….which will include those who voted for the destruction 🤬🤯😭. Still vacillating between being furious and puddles of tears. 4mo

Suet624 @Graywacke I just had a very long visit with my Tibetan friend who was really really helpful. She understands my pain (for all of those who will be hurt) but is trying to get me to focus on taking care of myself first. I've turned off as many news sources as I can because each article just batters my heart. So, yeah, I'm bitter, but mostly grieving right now. I hope you find your way through this too. 💖 4mo

Suet624 @Cuilin Hi! I forgot to see who won the Governor's race in NH. This is all just mindblowing. Vermont had more Republicans elected than expected. We still have a Democratic majority so I think we're good for a while but we reelected a republican governor for the 5th time in a row. Ugh. 4mo
Suet624 @Lcsmcat Oh gosh . I'm so sorry. So far I haven't seen anyone around me that is rejoicing but I know there are a few. I feel so badly for those folks in red states that have gloating neighbors and guys driving around in trucks with flags flying. That would be so hard to deal with. 4mo
