The story was all over the place!
First of all, I found this signed owl crate edition at half price books for only 10 bux. I‘m a whore for book covers so I bought it before I even knew what it was about because, uhm, this is quite possibly one of the most beautiful covers I‘ve ever seen. Anyhoo, I was pleasantly surprised to actually adore the story contained within. I especially loved Laney. I love books with female MCs who discover how badass they are 💪🏼
“Something‘s coming. Something with teeth.”
This was a creepy, atmospheric read. I enjoyed the relationship between DeLaney and Colton, and there were interesting side characters, too. It‘s nice to see a main character with a disability as well. Highly recommend this one.
Dark and lovely with an agonizingly good slow burn romance, this was a deliciously haunting and atmospheric book. And nice to see disability representation in a protagonist.
Next up. I'm really looking forward to this book I received in a book swap recently.
This was a good read with a MC who is deaf. Set in an university with it seems young men are being found dead. But it's not that straightforward, as it includes another world, shadows and of course romance. I found it quite gripping.
Loving my Owlcrate version of The Whispering Dark! The foiling on the hardcover is gorgeous, not to mention the dust jacket redesign is my favorite design for this novel, but I also like that the book is always a good quality. It makes it easier to take with me places and not worry about it falling apart, but just special enough too📖🙌🏼
Latest OwlCrate book, and another shiny + enticing cover. It gave me The Ninth House vibes - Delaney has a gift for the supernatural, and she attends a college where she can put her gift to work. While there are aspects of the plot that I think could be explained better, the secrets to uncover in the book and its slow burn romance kept me turning the pages. I was also entrapped by how Andrew wrote about emotions, and feeling things in your bones.
