A fitting new book for the new month, excited for this one.
A fitting new book for the new month, excited for this one.
The first born girl of every generation in the Van Tassel family is named Katrina, after the first Katrina who was said to be protected by the headless horseman. When reading the original Katrina‘s diary, Kat see alarming parallels between her life now & Katrina‘s then. of course it all leads to the day of the Harvest Ball & the horseman‘s arrival. Decent bi rep, liked the girls, ex bf sucked, ending left me wanting more but quick read
Finished the tagged book for #lmpbc … Started Love in the Time of Bertie while waiting for school to get out. Dang it‘s cold out there! And windy! 💨 🥶
It‘s here! #lmpbc
@persephone1408 I have the next one ready to mail today or tomorrow.
I‘ve had a lot of fun trying books that might be a little outside what I‘d normally choose. I love these YA Disney reimaginings, though. 🥰
The newest in a long line of Katrina van Tassels finds her own life mirroring that of the first Katrina. Things get even more complicated when a group of boys try to summon a ghost.
This was a cute & spooky YA story with some fun bi representation, with modern & historical parallel storylines. Lots of interesting side characters, but felt very tell instead of show & the ending was really abrupt. It did leave me wanting more. 🌕🌕🌕🌑🌑
I‘m helping my sister dog sit. And someone is very interested in the book I‘m reading. ❤️
It arrived! Yay! I can‘t wait to get to it!
A Treason of Thorns should be in the mail by Monday! Sorry it‘s going out late!

Enjoying this lovely Halloween morning with a delightful book.
Happy Halloween, Littens!! 🧡🖤 🎃
Haven‘t had much time to read this month since starting my new job, so this took me longer to get through than expected. Still, it was a lot of fun and put me into the Halloween spirit. While I wasn‘t crazy about “modern”, Kat; the original Katrina‘s story was great. Also, I always kinda felt like Ichabod was a jerk, so was glad to see that played out.
3.5 ⭐ Kat van Tassel is the newest in a long ling of Katrina‘s. She is a legacy. She is part of the town of Sleepy Hollow‘s history. That history is celebrated every year, and this year, Kat missed it. She was engrossed in reading a book and missed the celebration of dusk a few days before Halloween. Sleep Hallow and its legend is a very big deal in her town. The schools are devoted to it, every business has something akin to the legend, etc.
Little Kirby has developed a love for books. #catsoflitsy
I loved the idea for this book, but that's about it. The writing wasn't the best through most of it, and the story wasn't that interesting. It had a duel storyline, one of which would have been great by itself, but the other, more modern one, lacked. I just really didn't care about the characters, and parts of the story didn't make much sense. Iwas surprised by how much I disliked this book since I have enjoyed others from this author.
