Two sisters, one long-ago murder, and a web of terrifying secrets collide in a gripping standalone thriller from acclaimed author Edwin Hill . . . At first glance, Natalie Cavanaugh and Glenn Abbott hardly look like sisters. Even off-duty, Natalie dresses like a Boston cop, preferring practical clothes and unfussy, pinned-up hair. Her younger sister, Glenn, seems tailor-made for the spotlight, from her signature red mane to her camera-ready smile. Glenn has spent years cultivating her brand through her baking blog, and with the publication of her new book, that hard work seems about to pay off. But her fans have no idea about the nightmare in Glenn and Natalies past. Twenty years ago, their fathers body was discovered in the woods behind their house. A trauma like that doesnt fit with Glenns public image. Yet, maybe someone reading her blog does know something. There have been anonymous online messages, vague yet ominous, hinting that shes being watched. And with unsettling coincidences hitting ever closer to home, both Glenn and Natalie soon have more pressing matters to worry about, especially when a dead body is found in an abandoned building . . . Natalie is starting to wonder how much Glenn really knows about the people closest to her. But are there also secrets Natalie has yet to uncover about those she herself trusts? For two decades, shes believed their father was murdered by their neighbor, with whom he was having an affair. But if those events are connected to whats happening now, maybe theres much more that Natalie doesnt know. About their father. About their neighbors. About her friends. Maybe even about herself. But there are no secrets between sisters . . . are there? This suspenseful story will have readers careening from one erroneous conclusion to the next. Library JournalSTARRED REVIEW "Full of whiplash twists and dark family secrets, Edwin Hill's new standalone is clever and chilling. Be advised to not trust anyone." This is my first Edwin Hill book…I‘d honestly never heard of him. I really enjoyed this one, so it‘s definitely not my last. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I liked this one a lot. A good family/cop mystery.

There are almost too many threads and twists in this thriller, but the author leads us through with interesting and well defined characters and plot lines. Two sisters have almost nothing in common as adults, as were kids they and their next door neighbors experienced a terrible tragedy. Now, those secrets are linked to new crimes and their families are at risk.

I grabbed this on a whim off my library‘s new book shelf, and I‘m glad I did.

Edwin Hill delivers another page-turner. While I figured out a couple of the twists early on, there were others that I did not see. I really enjoyed the setup of the novel. Mainly taking place in the present, there are little glimpses into the past, and I liked the mirroring that occurred between the events within the two timelines. The characters really pulled me into the novel; I wanted to know who did what and how they would fare in the end.
