Deserter: Junji Ito Story Collection
Deserter: Junji Ito Story Collection: Junji Ito Story Collection | Junji Ito
8 posts | 5 read | 3 to read
A vengeful family hides an army deserter for eight years after the end of World War II, cocooning him in a false reality where the war never ended. A pair of girls look alike, but theyre not twins. And a boys nightmare threatens to spill out into the real world... This hauntingly strange story collection showcases a dozen of Junji Itos earliest works from when he burst onto the horror scene, sowing fresh seeds of terror. -- VIZ Media

My pick for the #TBRTarot prompt for May, which was choose a book written by a male author. Junji Ito is the master of body horror graphic novels/manga.

CBee Awesome 👏🏻 7mo

#IdiomInsight Day 3: This looks like an #UpInArms kind of book - part of daughter‘s Junji Ito collection.

I love ITO! I spent yesterday cleaning/organizing my reading room and office and found a couple of ITO books that I had forgotten about! So .. yay for starting this one!

ElizaMarie @jb72 Ha! I do too. But then I get all confused about when I bought them. With me trying to unpack/clean my sunroom a bit, I am finding all sorts of books that I #OwnButNotYetRead :( 3y

I'll say it over and over but Junji Ito is the best manga story teller and gives everyone nightmares.
Stories are creepy with a pinch of sympathy

ShyBookOwl That image alone could give me nightmares! I'm gonna have to check this out haha 3y
