So the typos in the last story went beyond typos. It was entire sentences inserted where they absolutely did not belong🤷🏼‍♀️. The first story in the book was the best. I'm sorry to say this book just wasn't for me ☹️

Pretty interesting so far. Just finished the corn Maiden Story. Still not halfway thru tho. Other short stories to get to. The corn Maiden one is pretty disturbing 🤣

I stumbled on to Joyce Carol Oates in the past year, and what a treasure she is. Everything I‘ve read has been stellar. And every story in this book hits its mark. Stories of evil twins, sibling rivalry, twisted teens, demented doctors... each will haunt you after it thrills you. There‘s no ghosts, demons, or vampires here. But there are plenty of scary humans.
Read this book!

This book is creepy in the way that only a tale of horrific acts performed by children can be. It scared me, but I couldn't put it down. I 💚Joyce Carol Oates, and she creeps me out, too.

I didn't get to post my #24in48 TBR last night, but I'm doing this thing! Starting with The Corn Maiden, hopefully it'll be a quick one.
