The Ink Black Heart is the sixth installment of the Cormoran Strike series. Robin and Strike investigate the death of cartoon co-creator, Edie Ledwell. This is my least favorite book in the series. I don‘t care for cartoons and there was a lot of online dialoge I find painful to listen to in an audiobook format. Fortunately, I enjoyed other aspects of the story very much. It‘s a low pick for me.

The world of cormorán strike and robin ellacottt is immersive, indulging and addictive, so thank goodness it‘s a series! Written in prose that makes you a better person, yet enticing enough it hooks you from the start, I am always in edge for the mystery and potential romance in this series. Wonderfully and intelligently written, how does social media and groups being themselves into a bigger picture

I love Cormoran. I love Robin. I love their complicated relationship. I love how intricate and detailed (long!😁) these books are- though I'm glad most books I read aren't so long and detailed! I think I like them because they are an anomaly to me in that sense. Anyway, I enjoyed this and look forward to reading the next one soon.

These books seem to be getting longer & longer, but I still couldn‘t wait to get back to it every time I put it down. The Strike series is becoming one of my faves. Lots of characters to keep track of in this one (should‘ve taken notes!) but a good read! And I really want to visit Highgate Cemetery. Anyone been there?

This was a nice visit back to see what Robin and Strike are up to. The next one is already waiting on my bookshelf. I enjoyed reading this. I really like the characters and the plotlines are wonderfully complicated. Sometimes I get bored with short thrillers because of overly simplified crimes and plots that are run through really quickly. This is such a long book that it gives plenty of time for both characters and the plot.

Getting so tired of Cormoran and Robin‘s will they or won‘t they.
Book could‘ve been so much shorter.

Bk1 of November is done! Well, really October/November. Finally got around to finishing this today. This was a reread before I start the new Strike, Running Grave. I quite liked this, it was written during Rowling‘s internet war so it‘s definitely a big FU to the keyboard warriors. People have said it‘s hard to follow which is fair, there‘s a lot of chat transcripts, but if you can keep them sorted it‘s a great read. #SeriesLove23 #BookspinBingo

I am currently reading this big tomb of a book. It's just over 1000 pages. I am at 600 now. I have a week of so. I should finish it at the end of the week.

Yay, finished this just in time for the release of the next in the series! I love Strike and Robin. I can‘t put my finger on what it is, but I do enjoy the (very long!) books in this series.

🎧 Bk 6 - chonker - I loved it. STOP reading if you haven‘t read books 1-5 & want to! Robin & Strike better never get together. I think they would be an interesting pair but prefer them apart keeps their relationship on edge.

If youv‘e read the other 5 in this series you know what you‘re in for.

The mystery: 2 cartoonists, a video game & murder of course plus you have Strike taking out his relationship frustration on a new non-Robin.

It‘s impossible for me to pin down *how* she makes these books so unputdownable-it really is just detectives walking around & talking to people for 1000 pages-but her character development and pacing are expertly done, I got through this massive book in less than a week. This was, also, the first time I‘ve correctly guessed the “bad guy,” so I am very proud of myself 💁🏻‍♀️Looking forward to seeing where Strike & Robin are taken next!

I found this enjoyable but for some reason I kept getting confused by all of the characters during the online chats. I think it would have been easier to follow if it hadn‘t been the audiobook. All in all, a pick for me.

It‘s time to start this “Super Chunkster”. It‘s my #BookSpin book this month. It‘s also the last square needed on my #nobuy2023 bingo board & for #ChunksterChallenge2023, #SeriesLove2023, #20in4 & #ThingsInCommon.

May have had it drawbacks with some of the detail included in the book but it held up nicely and the twists and red herrings were masterful. Another well-written piece of mystery by the pseudonymous Robert Galbraith. 5⭐️

I raced through this 1000p + chunkster, the 6th book in the Stike and Ellacott mystery series.

This time the duo is investigating the murder of a young woman who was the co-creator of cult cartoon on YouTube. Her co-creator was also hurt at the same time.

Looking into fandoms, Neo Nazis and incels.

I never guessed at who the killer was.

I just hope I don‘t have to wait too long for the next book in this series.

Just 1 square left and my #nobuy2023 bingo board will be complete. The tagged book is the thickest book on my shelves & I‘m planning to read it in April. The different color book borders just let me see at a glance which month I read it in.

Started out my Year of Reading the Chunksters on my shelf with The Ink Black Heart. This one had the highest page count of my stack showing. It did not disappoint! I love the Strike and Ellacott series.

My favorite book in September was The Ink Black Heart by Robert Galbraith.

Honestly, I wasn‘t blown away with the newest issues of Saga that were released this year. It felt like nothing much really happened and I wasn‘t emotionally gutted like I have been in the past.

The Ink Black Heart was WAY too long, and was definitely my least favorite of the Cormoran Strike series so far. It was only worth it for the Robin/Strike relationship.

In 2023 I plan on setting my Goodreads reading challenge to about 25 books so I can focus on ready the many, many chunksters on my shelves. I‘m kicking it off with the longest one and the super-sized page count in The Ink Black Heart. (I took this picture a few months ago so of course I‘ve added more chunky books to this pile!)

I love a good chunkster and this fits it 1012 pages!!! Love this series too so excited to spend my Christmas vacation (only 7 more hours of work to go) with this one!

Not sure how I missed this coming out… but just requested it from the library!

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Usually, I‘m all for the intricate details and character surplus, but this is by far my least favorite installment of the #CormoranStrike series. Strike‘s and Robin‘s character development was fantastic, but I didn‘t care about the rest. The crime wasn‘t even all that interesting. A bit of a letdown, especially for 1000+ pages. #chunkster

Now I‘m finally reading a book for me. I‘m sure I might have read one or two over the past year but I can‘t remember. What I do know is I‘ve been waiting for Robin and Strike to solve another case and escape into the world of my favorite modern British PIs. 1000 pages - I‘ll be done sometime next year 🫠

Whatever your personal feelings about JK Rowling, this series is so good! Though if she doesn't give us a Strike/Robin moment soon I may revolt 😂

Dammit, I‘m mad at how much I loved this book. I couldn‘t stop listening. I know JKR is a garbage person, but Strike and Robin are just a delight and I loved spending 33+ hours with them.

It's just arrived... I really can't wait to read it! 🤩

Another good installment of a series I can‘t seem to quit. I really liked the internet trolling murder mystery and I didn‘t have it figured out until Strike & Robin did. I love these characters, but I‘m honestly getting sick of the Moonlighting-level refusal to put them together that Rowling has. Enough already!

Thoughts about this one from anyone who‘s read it?

Technically this was the last book I finished in September, but it works perfect for the #Scarathlon Day 1 photo prompt #Black. This is the first Cormoran Strike book I felt really ambivalent about. All of the Robin/Strike stuff is great, but there were a lot of issues with the central mystery. The book was way too long (33 hrs on audio!) and the extended chat room and Twitter thread interludes were so excessive and boring, I literally zoned out.

The Ink Black Heart (tagged) by Robert Galbraith, aka JK Rowling, was my favorite read in September.

A cyberbullying case takes center stage in the 6th Strike novel as a fan-created ode to a quirky cartoon takes on a dark edge. I love the character development in the two leads. They sharpen each other & work well together. Seeing Robin‘s skill as a detective grow without Matthew‘s interference is a joy. And Strike is finally realizing he needs to make some healthier choices. They are damaged, but their interactions & friendship have such depth.

All 1,012pgs of it🙌The 6th Strike books, it was a bit hard to follow at times with transcripts of 3 simultaneous chats from a game side by side, but once you get used to that it was a pretty good story. This is book 6 in the Cormoran Strike series. In this story Robin and Strike are hired to find out who Anomie is in a popular online game based on a cartoon called The Ink Black Heart. The story is full of intrigue and has a complex set of suspects they must work through. I loved following along with them as they worked to solve the mystery. Of course, we have the subplot, which feels more like a second plot, of the developing relationship between

Day3 of my #SuperSeptember #readathon and I‘m in bed with this bloody flu trying to keep reading through the mounting headache. I really really don‘t want to put it down, I‘m on page 350 already! I‘d switch to the audio but my daughter @Ciara_Rosey has it and she said it‘s not great, hard to follow with all the transcripts & chats from the game involved. 🤞the painkillers kick in soon.
