A new dark and spicy romantasy with forbidden romance, gripping action, and a heat that smolders the pages. I could save him, but he would ruin me. The beast. The creature that stalks the forbidden wood. The dragon prince. He has suffered a fate worse than death. We all have. A curse put upon us by the mad king. We are a kingdom locked in time. Shifters unable to feel our animals. Stuck here by a deal between the late king and a demon who seeks our destruction. The only one keeping this kingdom alive is Nyfain, the golden prince to a stolen throne. The last dragon shifter. He's our hope. He's my nightmare. When he catches me trespassing in the forbidden wood, he doesn't punish me with death, as he's entitled. He takes me, instead. Forces me back to the castle as his prisoner. Seeks to use me. Apparently, I can save him. I can save the whole forgotten kingdom, locked away by the demon king's power. But it would mean taming the monster beneath his skin. It would mean giving myself to him. It would mean my ruin. _ _ _ _ _ _ This is a dark and sexy Beauty and the Beast retelling, featuring a strong heroine, a dangerous anti-hero, and a humorous supporting cast.

An interesting take on the Beauty & the Beast trope. I think it was a little too dark for me, but I do love her writing. So a cautious pick for me. #romantsy

It isn't badly written but the writing style is just not for me. I had the feeling that a lot of obscene scenes were written with the intention to shock. The humour was also not for me. There were a lot of smexy scenes in the book but they lacked spice and chemistry. I missed the romance, character depth and other things beside the sexy appearance of the main male character.
As I'm the wrong audience for that book I won't continue the series.

Everyone who knows me knows I‘m a sucker for any fairytale retelling. This is no different. This is the first book in a Beauty and the Beast retelling! There was more emotion here than I thought there would be and I liked it more than I thought I would. Excellent book club read for #firereadingwitchqueens #romantsy #readingchallenge2022

Meshell1313 Ooh have to check it out! Have you read The Lunar Chronicles? Each one is a different fairy tale made sci fi. 3y
KristiAhlers @Meshell1313 no I haven‘t! I‘ll have to look for those. This title is a Kindle Unlimited if you participate in that program. I do and it literally pays for itself with the amount of books they offer. ❤️ 3y

A smutty retelling of Beauty and the Beast. Both can be found on Kindle Unlimited. 2nd book is better than the first. 3rd book out Feb 7th.
