There were moments in A Brush with Love where I laughed so hard, I thought I was going to pull a muscle. That is the talent of Mazey Eddings, one moment she can make you want to cry a river and the next you are laughing until you snort.

This was unexpected for me-I don‘t think I‘ve ever read a book with dental students and it was really interesting. The MC was struggling with anxiety and grief and this has surprising depth and complexity, considering the cover. Eddings is a talented writer with good pacing and a fresh perspective. Really enjoyed this one! #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks #20in4 @Andrew65
This book starts off strong. It had me in stitches within the first ten minutes of reading. However I felt the plot moved a little too quickly for my taste. It is obvious that the author wanted to treat the subject matter of mental illness with care. I appreciated the content note at the beginning. Ultimately, this was a so-so read for me, but I would like to get to know the characters in this book‘s universe more with the sequel. #AugustARC
A cute rom-com with characters in dental school. Loved the environment for the story, but the main characters were a bit annoying in their insecurities and anxieties and didn‘t actually seem to have any chemistry.
A Brush With Love was a so-so read for me, but in good news it finishes off my Summer #booked2022 quarter! It's late Bunuru here so I'm going to call that autumn and move on. In better news, my new pencils arrived!! #litsycrafters #readingchallenge
I, um .... meh.
Good things: dental school, non-trad student, #ownvoices neurodiversity rep.
But the instalove left me cold, both characters (especially Dan) need to grow the hell up (they read like they were 18, not 26), his angry white-knighting - with premeditated physical assault - was a giant nope for me, and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE STOP TICKLING HER.

Harper and Dan meet accidentally in dental school and immediately feel something for each other. There are obstacles to overcome and some pretty serious issues (enough that Eddings alerts readers to trigger warnings at the beginning of the novel). Harper lives with anxiety, and as someone who also lives with it, though it‘s not as debilitating as Harper‘s, it was interesting to see how Eddings weaves this in the story.
And yet, I didn‘t ⬇️⬇️⬇️
This was a faster read than I was expecting! I wasn‘t sure what this was going to be like, but it was surprising. Not a romcom, this deals with some serious emotions in a realistic way. Loved that everyone stood up for what they deserved.
