The Cheerleaders of Doom (NERDS Book Three)
The Cheerleaders of Doom (NERDS Book Three) | Michael Buckley
3 posts | 3 read | 3 to read
Matilda “Wheezerâ€? Choi, the asthmatic who can fly and kick butt courtesy of her nanobyte-enhanced inhalers, loves pro wrestling and hates anything “girlie.â€? Maybe that’s because she grew up with six brothers—or maybe it’s because her home life has become a battle zone in the conflict between her parents. Unfortunately for Wheezer, when a former member of NERDS turned villain gets extensive plastic surgery in order to become a cheerleader, Matilda must swallow her pride to successfully infiltrate the squad. The newest supervillain, Gerdie Baker, assisted by the criminal mastermind Simon, has created a device that opens portals to other worlds, which she and the other cheerleaders have been pillaging. But the alternate realities are starting to get awfully close together, so it’s up to Wheezer and the NERDS to stop the cheerleaders before the worlds collide.

3✨This time we get to have the backstory of Wheezer. Our friendly… um more like tough as nails, rough around the edges, tomboy. With her inhalers she is a kid spy that goes under cover to find an ex-Nerd Mathlete who is causing some problems. Not as funny as the first two, but heartwarming in its own right.

Does it ever make you sad to think about all the books that DIDN‘T exist when you were a kid?? I have like weird reverse FOMO about the fact that I would have LOVED books like this as a kid. #howjessreadsin2019

JanuarieTimewalker13 Thank you! You just taught me a term I didn‘t know! Fear Of Missing Out!! Love it!! I‘m on the border of boomer/gen X, so forgive me. Well, I had FOMO re: FOMO. Lol yes, I think of all the YA books that would‘ve have made teenage angst so much easier bc I would have realized I wasn‘t alone!! 6y
LibrarianRyan This series is so fun. Have you read his fairy tale detectives series. It‘s a favorite. 6y
