I‘ve loved this whole MG HF series. The characters are really lovable. In this one we learn about the Port Chicago disaster which I knew nothing about previously. Recommended for mg classrooms. #middlegrademarchthroughtime

This is the third & concluding book in Cline-Ransome‘s series that began with Finding Langston. I haven‘t read the other two, but am planning on doing so now. Clem is 9 when his father is killed in the Port Chicago Disaster in 1944 & somehow, the family must find a way to keep going. Clem is a fantastic character & you‘ll root for him, his family & the friends he makes along the way. Good MG historical fiction about life in 1940s Chicago.

Karisa Oh! I loved Finding Langston! I didn‘t realize it was series. 3y
