I read this book a few years ago—historical fiction about Annie Cohen Kopchovsky (aka Annie Londonderry) a young Jewish mother of 3 who sets off on a round-the-world #Bicycle trip in 1895. 🚲
Meh. This felt like it had a lot of telling and not showing, which might make sense because it's written in the form of a letter from a woman to her granddaughter, but I wasn't feeling it.

I am 8 hours in to the readathons. I finished 2 and made a big dent in my next audiobook and 100 pages Into Spin. Didn‘t think I would like it. But it ain‘t half bad!! #anywayyoureadathon. @kimmypete1 @Eggbeater @MidnightBookGirl #joysofjune @Andrew65
The story of Annie Cohen Kopchovsky (aka Annie Londonderry) a young Jewish mother of 3 who sets off on a round-the-world bicycle trip in 1895. An entertaining read about a brave woman doing extraordinary things at a time when women had little autonomy. The author is a relative of Annie & spun his research into an engaging read. Paired with my bookish dish: Smoked Salmon Dip on Pumpernickel “Wheels” (like little bike wheels). Review/recipe link⬇️
Annie was somewhat of a family secret, so Zheutlin had to do quite a bit of research to piece together Annie‘s amazing story which he now presents as a historical fiction novel. The “P.S.” at the end of the letter was emotional and helped me understand Annie a bit better.
Finished Chilled Cucumber Soup with Shrimp from an Ina Garten recipe. Easy, no cooking involved & perfectly refreshing on a humid 80 degree F. day. Yogurt & lemon make it tangy & the sweet shrimp go well with the cucumber & dill. Recipe link⬇️
Paired with this book I‘m just starting for a tour for its publication date on 6/1. “A novel based on a (mostly) true story” about a young Jewish mother who goes on a round-the-world bicycle trip in 1894.
