Pickpick

This is just a low pick for me, though I am years over the target age range for this.

Nice easy, flowing writing style and felt like a YA version of the movie What Lies Beneath.

Could have shaved the length a bit and that would have made the narrative a bit tighter. I guessed the surprise character reveal very early but that's okay.

Next physical book - on Fridays I like to have a quick, easy and hopefully entertaining read I can whizz through on the go!

These are my planned reads for today.

I am also fighting to resist temptation of a colour eReader now #kindle have released one.... I'm more tempted by a Boox or Kobo device still...but trying to hold out as sure the tech will improve with further iterations.

This was a soft pick. It‘s very easy to scare me, so this book left me feeling very unsettled. I enjoyed the haunted house and the details of the past residents of the Arrington state. I thought the addition of the podcast, and representation with a bi main character who also has type 1 diabetes was great. I didn‘t like the ending very much. The “resolution” didn‘t make sense to me, and I was upset with how Holly‘s story ended.

Stats for #20in4. Good book! Not a huge fan of horror, but apparently I like #queer horror.

I lost my interest too many times. It was so bogged down with boring filler I am lucky I finished the book. I wanted to know what happened. But even the ending was a disappointment, no explanation of events, no real investigation and then dopey Dare just shrugs and says that‘s all folks! Oh well. On to better reads.

@kimmypete1 A HUGE MONSTER THANK YOU for the #HHS swap package, especially for THREE included books on my wishlist, that‘s a real treat. I can‘t wait to read them!
And receiving candles (without me having to smell every single one in the store before buying one) makes me super happy. My SON will be very happy I ‘have‘ to share the Haribo. Seriously tho, the books especially made my day.

AND the sun came out in Seattle today 🎃

This did not disappoint! I loved the mystery that was the driving force behind the ghost story. I listened to this on audiobook which just made the book that much more enjoyable as it brought the podcast aspect of the book to life. #Scarathlon2021 #TeamHendrix #Screamathon2021 #BFC2021 #spookoweenreadathon #Wickedathon #BookSpinBingo +376 pts
